I'm pretty confident with Sutcliffe. Toss up between Gray and Gunston but I think with Buddy gone Gunston will thrive. Plus, if you look at his history last year he was fairly consistent. Caddy best option >200k and <400k in the forward line for mine but yes, a risk. Shaw's also a risk, but taking him on pre-injury form.

Risks and PoDs are where you make it or break it. I've got plenty of trades to make corrections if needed. I'd prefer to have a go rather than have the same team as 200,000 other people and play it safe :)

Not a board regular but I've got to say I love unique teams, love seeing people post them, and love seeing people back their unique selections in.

Famous last words of a guy who RQ's and gives up hope halfway through the season! GL with it though haha.

POD's are great, I have a few, didn't include the couple secret ones I had in the above posted team. However you can't have too many, and you also don't have to pick a super risky one to be a POD. There is so many great POD's, especially in the mids, that people are just not going for this year.

A man of conviction. Nothing wrong with that.
If there was one change that I would make, it would be downgrade Gunstan, and use the cash to turn Shaw or Sutcliffe into one of Mitchell, McVeigh, Bartel. Take a look at how much stronger your side would look with just that one change. I think you have enough POD's and enough risk elsewhere that you don't need to take that one. Or alternatively, if you want to maintain the major POD and risk in the backline, just upgrade one of Shaw/Sutcliffe to Grimes. At least that way there are 4 potential keepers in the backline rather than just 3.
Yep, I hear you. I would prefer one more premo in the backline, but to be completely honest it all comes down to rookies in the NAB. If there's 2 Rookies starting that I think will score 60+ I can start them on the ground and use the money elsewhere. When I was planning my team I aimed for no more than 1 playing Rookie in FWD and DEF because, based on the information at hand, there weren't many gun rookies around.

Caddy -> Rookie, Martin -> Gray/Zorko/Mitchell/Parker and then Shaw -> Bartel is my way of thinking if I can get two FWD rookies playing round 1 that I'm happy with.

Not quite sure who you're referring to??

Absolutely. Not sure Caddy/Sutcliffe/Shaw are all that risky though TBH.

Realistically, Shaw is only 60k more than Kolkajsdlkjalksdj which most people have selected with good SC scoring history.

Thanks for help to date much appreciated

Slightly diff approach with forward and back line. Not convinced on the top 4 or 5 Defenders, will they keep their price?

We still need to wait for NAB cup but i just can't find too many certainties in the forward and back line when it comes to rookies. Would rather have as many players on field and bench as certainties.

Oh yeah and $21K left over

For starters, get rid of McIntosh: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-02-12/scott-cautious-with-big-cats

Love the Henderson selection, a lot. He was in my team for the first 60 versions but opted to look elsewhere. Hibberd I think is a great choice. I have serious reserverations about Grimes and Suckling personally. Grimes never stays on the park. Played 21 games in 2012, otherwise has never played more than 15 games in 6 seasons. The most risky SC pick possible in 2014 IMO. Suckling, even when fit, doesn't score all that well, you've obviously selected him because he's cheap but given he won't make you as much money as cheaper players and won't score what more expensive options score I just don't get it.

Dangerfield in the midfield surprised me initially, but I love what you've done in the forward line, although reserverations exist on Zorko being parked in the forward line; http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...-tough-preseason/story-fni5f4q3-1226821361299 - maybe switch to Mitchell/Parker/Gunston/Gray??

I think your midfield, even with Danger, is lacking oooomph. Personally think you need another premo in there somewhere when comparing to the large majority of teams I've seen.

Thanks for the advice, i have done some tinkering. $7k left over

Liked you advice on Zorko and changed him to Lecras think he's a really good POD.
Also really good POD are Atley and Frawley, will it work? maybe.
Atley has been earmarked for a breakout year every year now and still hasn't delivered.
Frawley 2 years ago would have been a lock in everyones side, can he recapture that form?

In regards to H.Mac in the ruck its risk worth taking for the forward line it allows me to have. This is why i chose Dixon in the forward line.

Tried to squeeze D.Thomas in the midfield for that extra ooooomh but just can't squeeze him in.

I know i have 3 awkward mid pricers and 2 really high rookies but as soon as i try to fit Nic Nat in the ruck and another Premo Mid it has two problems

A: It looks just like everyone else's team
B: Still not convinced on all these rookies. I can see a lot of donuts and green vests.

Some options to consider to get rid of Grimes without changing any other lines and keeping quality SC scorers

Hibberd to Birchall

Hanley to Malceski

Grimes to Hurn

May see how Swallow or Watts are used during NAB cup and keep an eye out on their scores

You're doing it back to front.:rainbow:

Messing around today with combinations:

standard rule of rookies to change based on NAB

Feel free to critique

Note - fair chance Jmart will become someone cheaper and Gray will become a Martin or Nroo

You think Steven will go well with no Dal Santo there to take the #1 tag?

I think Steven is a jet, runs so damm hard and reminds me of Dane Swan in his prime. I think the upside in Steven is huge and the saints early draw makes it a calculated gamble IMO

Everytime i talk myself out of him i think of 3 reasons to put him back in

Nothing vanilla about your backs/mids. Really like your premo mid pods, Fyfe, Steven & it's good to see Selwood finally selected. With the right mix of rookies you can cash up to have a very solid midfield.
The only negative for mine is your defense. Looks a little thin to me. I think you need a stronger D4.
Upgrading Gray to Nroo/Dusty is a must. Solid team ;)

If I can find a 120k mid jmart goes and hansen becomes hibberd I think

Am I the only one that's lost the ability to edit my team? It's almost like a lockout, no T/C/VC/S buttons on any players??
No it's happening to me as well. I just wanted to trade out Clark :(
