Team 1:
- need to change Bock > ?
- possibly go Sheed>XEllis

View attachment 44114

Team 2: tried to minimise rookie starters & balance all lines.
So from team1 I've gone...

OUT: McVeigh, Cutler, Selwood, Watson, Sheed, Lobbe, Bock
IN: Hibberd, Suckling, Murphy, Daisy, XEllis, Ryder, Zorko.

I like the balance of team 2 but I hate that I've given up Jelwood, Watson.
Thoughts on the better side?

Team 2 by the length of the Flemington straight at the moment.

Fuller hasn't played a game yet, we're all assuming because he's mature age he is going to play.
Cutler will struggle to find a spot in Brisbane's best 22
Georgiou is still a rookie.

Garlett yet to play and hasn't been named in the 2nd nab challenge game
Impey competing for a spot with Jake Neade
Bock out till round 3-4.

If things stay the same you'd be facing 2 doughnuts in round 1..

If Murphy returns to previous years form he'll average 110 only 1 ppg less than Watson so don't fret too much.

Team 2's balance is very very good.

Second. Not sure Sheed will play much early. He will get games, not first up tho. Ellis is loved by the coach. (brings apples every daya to training for the coach)
After the first NAB I have Ellis in as a lock.

All good in theory but you need to have said rookie to pull what your talking about off.

So far there's McDonald, daylight, more daylight and then maybe Georgiou that have remotely come out of the woodwork. The rest of the cupboard is bare after those two.
I think Clurey is almost close to being in the side come round 1. Others to consider are possibily Ramsay,Cutler, Fuller. Theres bound to be some rookies named in defence come round 1 that could get 6-8 early games in the season. Macdonald is too expensive for mine and i dont think is a definate lock at this stage either. Still early days though and need to see more pre season games to make a final decision

It's a shame with Martin considering when he has played he looks more than capable. Sam Shaw I would imagine would be the big beneficiary of Henderson going down.

Sando has talked about Brodie Smith as replacing Hendo. Plans were more midfield time, but now he'll be a rebounding defender.

Shaw could be in the side too.

I don't know how Rielly is tracking, but with him amd Hendo out, you would think Shaw has a fair chance.

What are your thoughts on the kind of role Matty Wright might play? The guy can rack up some huge numbers but was used as a tagger and as an impact player off the bench last season, any chance of him being used purely as an attacking midfielder?

All valid points re rookies. Id only have to worry about one rookie in both defence and up fwd in team2. I hope you're righty re Murphy. He's a gun but I feel he's a different player since his nasty injury. Hate that I've got Judas back in @ m5.
I'd be pretty comfortable with team1 if there were viable rookie options for both d5/6 & f5/6. It's a disaster right now. I hope things change in the coming week.

Thx for your input.

Ellis looks good and is a lock :)

Thinking Kerridge will do some tagging. He has the tank for it.

Wright is much better as a fwd rotated through the mids. If he keeps this role he could score well.

Can i please get peoples advise on my team???? :) Really appreciate feedback

Downgrade Zaha to a rookie and upgrade one of your forward rookies to a premo. Zaha is a 90ppg average mid at best. Don't let one NAB cup game fool you into thinking otherwise.

Who would you downgrade Zaka to? And which rookie fwd would you upgrade and who to? Cheers Gingy

I don't usually like to recommend specific players for this thread but..

Zaha > Dunstan (or someone else 123k or under who is named for Rd1) & start Ellis on the ground.
I don't know how much money you have in the bank after that, but ideally upgrade one of your two 117k forward benchies. If not enough money for someone capable of 90+ then upgrade Rohan to the best avail.

Yeah true, zaha to dunstan i've done.. Other option to mine above is leave caddy then updagre impey to either matt wright or michael hurley

Do you prefer this type setup? Rohan to harvey, Zaka to dunstan, tippet to kade kolodjanajajan whatever?

Better, but KK is too expensive for a benchie. Downgrade to a cheapie and keep the 100k in the bank, it will come in handy for any corrective trades you might want to make in the first 2-3 rounds.

Like this team with rookies still to be panned out

I'd maybe change Harvey to Wingard or Martin, Franklin to Zorko, Maybe Cyril to Pav - saves you 100k and the scores will be around the same. Like the idea of Cyril but he is only a 14-15 game a year player - maybe if he plays wing/half back he might be more consistent and avoid injury but I wouldn't bank on it with Hawks losing x-factor up forward

Could use that to keep as cash or potentially upgrade rookies, premos before start

Edit: Walker to S.Mitchell saves you another 10k or you could go for a Hibberd, Enright type who could save you another 60-70k

Have $4,700 in the bank, any help would be appreciated.
Not sold Goldy in ruck, might bring in Burger to free up some coin. Same with Caddy to a Rookie. Obviously rookies are subject to change too.

Chapman i wouldn't be confident on...
Caddy could go one way or the other than that should be okay, maybe not 2 cats players in backline.

Downgrade Bartel Goldstein and then Chapman to Zorko should free up some cash to make some more changes to your side.

i like the side - a few PoDs and a few risks. i personally would go Bock -> Caddy tho. worst case scenario is that before round 3 you trade down Caddy to a playing fwd rookie cow. i personally think he'll avg 90ish and could turn into a good F6

Drop Bartel to a Hanley, Hibberd, Birchall $$$$ range

or

I dont see the point of having mitchell in the mids, swap him to defence and bring in Cotchin in the mids
