I reckon the club will know by around March what is going on. I like Cox's posturing on this. He has spoken about it like he is on the front foot. He will want to know for the team's sake, so I reckon he will put it on Warner to make an early decision.

That is the vibe I get from Cox.

But maybe I'm too positive a person.

My guess is that the club will push Warner's manager through Cameron and Harley who will be the guys responsible for the terms and conditions of the contract. They will work hard to get a commitment on what Warner wants. Without that we're shooting in the dark. Polish the ego. Who is his best mate in the club? Who does he really look up to?
Given that Mills sat the OOC boys down together last year I'm backing that he will be the one to push the mateship angle (perhaps with some help) while Cox pushes performance and achievement.
Not sure if they can come up with some other sweeteners but I reckon they'll try.
Depends on how strong the girlfriend's feelings and influence are. I doubt Mum and Dad will be pulling too hard to bring him home, they were happy for him to come here.
Of course he might just be leveraging WC to get the best possible deal.

I might be wrong, but I think they already know what's going on, and we're in a Christmas/NY holding pattern until they get back in January for Block 2. Harley, Pridham and Cox won't want this lingering on, and potentially distracting from Cox's 1st season as senior coach.

My expectations - strong development in our VFL team to build more depth in our senior team, we desperately need to bat a lot deeper than we do…

Seniors - accountability, if you’re not performing then back you go, senior spots needs to be held as a premium, less chat about multiple flags, finger twirl even if up by 200 off ya come, no more videos if we cop a suspension regardless how crap the decision, set standards, enforce & stick to them,

Chad to sign 2 - 3 yrs..

Finish anywhere between 5 & 1, if we get an away final, learn to win away come finals time we are 1/6 in recent years away from home…

Trade period assess our spine make the rights trades / draft accordingly even if some tough decisions are needed..

Nothing would surprise me next year. Don't think I could handle another GF so soon!

We have a team good enough to be minor premiers this year.

Next year we are still a top 8 team but the fall out from a grand final belting normally would have us sluggish. However with Longmire gone and Cox now in charge, There will be some changes in the best 22 and game style. So I think we can be top 4 again. Not sure we will make it back to the last Saturday.

We will need good run with injuries and form for the above to happen.

Warner contract will keep the Herald Sun busy. We lost Dawson who was a gun and survived. If Warmer goes it will be disappointing but never the end of the world.
