Hawaii cements a best 22 spot.
Perkins and Draper become trade bait.
Menzie spends most of his time in the VFL before being delisted.
Caddy kicks 35+ goals.
Draper and Wright compete for the forward/ruck role. Bryan ends up number 1 ruck.
We finish 12th - 16th.

Expecting a better season performance wise but the lack of a dominant forward to result in a frustrating amount of close losses. It'll look like we've gone backwards but in hindsight it will be looked upon as the launching pad for a finals run in 2026 and beyond.

Tsatas to quickly establish himself as best 22. Kako likewise.

Reid to get his body right but struggle for form and be in and out.

Perkins to settle as a damaging half forward.

Win one game with a goal after the siren.

Bottom 5.
Agreed !

The expectation that we all of a sudden come good needs to be reassessed.

Our most impactful player departed, we are wanting 2MP to recapture his 2022 form which was an aberration not the norm and whilst fwd, we are pinning a fair bit on a kid who hasn't even played a game.

The midfield dynamic appears like it won't be changing all that much

The defence still has questions on how it improves. A kid (is Zac a kid anymore at 23?)a shaky player by hand and foot (McKay) are to hold down the fort surrounded by more injury or inconsistent players (Ridley and Mason).

We have a plethora of talented players, whether they can put it all together for long enough across a season is the biggest question

We will finish in the 10 to 12 win range again. Jake Stringer going will not make us a 5 less win side.

Perkins will be decent at half forward and kick just over a goal a game.

Cox will be okay if he plays half back flank / half forward flank but will not fulfill the full potential because mentally he does not have it.

Kako will excite and play 15 to 20 games .

Caddy to kick average a goal a game and play 20 plus games in another step up the levels.

Martin to star playing wing / half forward.

El-Hawli will be a regular by the end of the season

Merrett will be very good at half back.

Bryan will play number 1 ruck.

Very measured and pragmatically realistic. Your unwillingness to step out on a limb makes me ache for more. Please Ant, give us an outrageous prediction that will allow us to bow before you when it happens or joyfully allow us to lambast you if it doesn’t!

I think it's more how the sides we beat this year have improve. Doubt it will be five wins either but think how we just fell over the line vs Pies, Crows and Saints. The latter two romping wins over us late in the year and Pies, Hawks, Crows have added some good mature best 22 talent. So right now I wouldn't be favoring us to beat Hawks or Pies this year. That's 2.5 wins gone.

I agree Stringer won't hurt us and the structure of the side is improved with Kako and believe SEH will be great addition. So I don't think we've made immediate ground on the teams ahead of us and haven't added more than the teams behind. I think 8-10 wins more likely. Certainly not pessimistic about the future but need a few more stars middle and forward to drive what is a really talented and balanced bottom 15 players up the ladder.

It is the same every year. Since the suspension year 6/8 seasons have been 11/12 wins with people predicting we will be bottom 5 because the other teams will be better. The only bottom 5 finishes where the 2020 Covid buble coaching handover and then Trucks last year. It is not impossible we will not fall back a bit and I would not be shocked but I still think we have enough good players to hit the same mark despite who will improve. That is the issue with the list for me. It is stuck in the middle and lacking some super star power and has 4 or 5 holes to fill.

I refuse to stand on that limb after being Wylie Coyote too often.
