Your first Crows game

Yep it was a crowd full of anticipation as to what would lie ahead

Could be wrong, but since we're talking firsts, I think that's Bruce McAveney's first call in the AFL too

Don't think Footy was very popular when Port played the Young Australians back in May of 1870 ;)

I love how you Port supporters come in here for validation, of course you were good and did well is that better, now move along it is way passed your bed time.

Almost all Crows supporters couldnt care less what you talk about in your forum.

1997 vs Richmond at Football Park. I was not into Football that much back then. I wish I was because it was a absolute mugging and Roo's 100th game. Jarman kicked an amazing goal from the pocket and Modra took a screamer (standard).

I bet there are a few 90's Richmond full backs who still have nightmares about Modra. He loved suiting up against them.

My first game was in 1994... It was a pre season game (from memory) against West Coast... I was 6 and I don't remember a lot except it was freezing and a night game... But I think we won...

My first interstate game was at Victoria park in 1997... I remember we went with a family friend who was a Collongwood fan and member of the collingwood cheer squad so we were in with them... We lost by a goal or two and remember Rhen was back wearing the knee-brace (or wet suit as Joffa and co referred to it)... But the atmosphere was awesome and to their credit the pies fans were happy to take as much as they gave and were gracious in victory (unlike modern pies fans unfortunately)...

Adelaide V Carlton, our second ever home game. First loss at Footy Park. I was confident we would belt Carlton after our demolition of Hawthorn in round one. So confident I bet $200 on an Adelaide win. $200 was a considerable amount back then. The cost of flights down from Sydney also compounded the loss.

Round 1 2003 vs Fremantle
first afl game attended and my first as a Sliver Member

Round 5 2013 vs Carlton
first interstate game and will only ever remember seeing Tex going down with a ACL.

Some game against Richmond at Footy Park. Thing it was Rd 22 1995, we lost, and I remember being completely shattered.

I went to that game as well, was 13 years old. Saturday night game. We had an almost full side and 49 more disposals too and there were 51 free kicks in the game as well, 26 to Richmond and 25 to Adelaide. Modra kicked 7 but Richmond led the entire game as they had a finals spot all wrapped up while we were under no pressure and did not seem to care, esp in that terrible 4th quarter. Ricciuto, Robran, McLeod, Andrew Jarman, Nigel Smart, Ben Hart, Mark Bickley, The Weeeed (with his mullet), Jamo, Edwards, Hart, Jason McCartney and Modra all played that evening. Richmond won by 37, 19.9.123 to 12.14.86. Hard times during a developing era of the club after that 1993 prelim choke-up, played poorly that year but 2 years later we made up for it. Paul Broderick was one of Richmond's best that game, Richo was out because of his ACL injury. They went on to make a preliminary final. Adelaide won it 2 years later after Modra went down with an ACL.

How can you people remember specifics from when you were so young?

I had been to games before, but the earliest I can pinpoint a specific game is when we played the bulldogs at the MCG in 99 and I was nearly 15! I remember clearly as it was the first game after Blighty announced he was leaving, and we lost after being up by 40 at 3/4 time.

Shit, most of my life pre-highschool is pretty hazy.

I do remember that we used to go with a friend of my Dad. We didn't have our own tickets at that stage, and this guy was an SANFL member. He had a few tickets and I think he usually took his family, but when they couldn't go, he'd take us.

I grew up in the country, and Adelaide was around 2.5 hours away. We'd leave really early, and get to Footy Park before the gates even opened. When they did we'd have to rush in and put this guy's blanket down to reserve half a frickin Row of the old aluminium benches. Then we'd wait for like 3 hours for the game.

Crows 1st ever game in sydney.
Thrashed em , Danny Hughes big torpy from FB , Rommy Negri gettin KO'D.

1st crows game at FP i saw was a trial vs WC
Crackin game that we lost by 5 pts.
Turley goin nuts in 1st half until Sando tagged him.

Then 1st rd of 92 at home vs Footscray.....shit game that we lost

Adelaide vs Fitzroy.

Miserable wet conditions and not the best game to watch but when Jamison kicked the winning goal it was exhilarating. Of course being a Glenelg supporter made the moment that much more exciting.

Jamo became an overnight hero.

My first game was with my dad and grand-dad and we took the train over to Melbourne to see the Crows v Magpies at the MCG in the mid 90's. My grandfather played for Collingwood and I was already a diehard crows fan (would've been less than 10), and my Dad had to sit between us as we were yelling at each other all game. The Crows lost and I was distraught, but at least I was wearing my new crows jacket, beanie and scarf!

Probably assisted memory for a lot of people. You remember the game, and through highlights/stats you remember the rest. The only thing I actually remember about being at my first game is asking my dad after every single goal "Who kicked that one?" And the answer nearly every time was Modra.

Round 1, 1991 as a 5 year old.
Went to pretty much every home game my entire childhood. But the first game I have distinct memories of was the semi-final loss to carlton at Waverley in 93. I got splinters. Shit day.

He loved to torture them. But so did Gary Ablett as well. Something about spectacular Full Forwards they just can't handle?
