My first away game was the 1997 prelim final. if i had to pick my fav season or seasons it would have to be from 1993-1998 the golden era of footy

1995, Essendon vs Crows at the G. We got absolutely smacked 182-60, and the second quarter was an absolute blitz of goals from the 'Dons. My Essendon-supporting friend gloats about it to this day.

First game i ever went to was in 91 against stkilda at footy park where lockett kicked 10 against us and from memory his 100th for the year.

My next game was in 93 against north melbourne at footy park when modra kicked 10 goals, took mark of the year and we came from nowhere to win. Carey kicked 5 as well. To this day still the best ever game i have been to and i have been to quite a few since.

1991, round 20 v West Coast. I got to run around in Peter Sumich's number 4 for West Coast at half time, it was strange hearing 45000 people cheer the kids in Crows gear and boo me and other kids in West Coast gear. I lost my half time game, but West Coast beat the Crows by 15 points. I'll always remember how dominant West Coast were in 91, they lost 3 games for the year, but couldn't get it done come finals time. It was also my parents first game and that led to us becoming members in 92.

My first game was when Jim stynes got carried off on a strecher after colliding with Randal Bone.

I can still remember the crack from heads colliding. I can remember the banner for Anthony Modra after kicking his 100th a week before.

My first game was the trial game against Essendon. Had to park a thousand kms away. On the walk from the car to the stadium I noticed My father struggling a bit with his breathing. I had him thoroughly checked out during the next week and he got the all clear. A year later he died from 'hidden heart disease.' That's the only thing I remember about the game.

First game for premiership points was R2 1991 v Carlton at Football Park as with many here. All I remember is that it was a day game, we lost and I am pretty sure it was a wet day. After flogging Hawthorn the week before I thought the premiership was a cakewalk (where have I heard that before) ... I received the first of many, many, many rude awakenings in the AFL that day.

Don't remember my first away game but used to catch the bus to Melbourne reasonably often in the mid 90's, 2 or 3 times a year for games. For SOO games too when they were on in Melbourne. I actually waved a Port Adelaide flag at the SOO game when we got flogged (the EJ game), I swear I felt like Luke when his arm starting becoming Vader's ... so I put it down as quickly as I could.

I am not sure whether I went to the trial game v Essendon, think I may have. I do remember the front page of the Advertiser or Sunday Mail the next day, the whole page was a cartoon of a Crow crushing an Essendon plane. I remember this well because a friend from school who barracked for Essendon was really upset with it and said that when Essendon beat Adelaide that year they should put a plane crushing a Crow on the front page. Seemed unlikely to happen.

Missed R1, 1991 v Hawthorn as I had my own sporting commitments at the time (seems hard to believe I once had sporting commitments other than watching Fox Sports as I look at the gut I have cultivated since).

I always regret that I missed that first game v Hawks, altho I was only 13, and who could have known it would be that amazing. I remember sitting in the loungeroom listening to the last half on the radio when after I got home and wishing I had been there. Regretted it even more when my consolation prize of attending the next week proved to be an experience nowhere near as enjoyable as it would have been on that opening night.

It is great reading about everyone's memories of their first game. Stories like these are such an important part of the fabric of the supportof the club. There is a lot more to the club's history than just wins and losses, Premierships and finals. Every supporter has their own stories.

It would be interesting also to read about people's favourite ever Crows game, excluding finals. Also their most painful memory of a Crows game ... whether or not that includes finals. I'm sure this has been done before but what else is there to talk about for 6 months?

Favourite game would be a good thread. Please don't talk about GFs though, in front of people who couldn't get tickets!! :(

Minor round games only. '97 PF and GF's have been done to death ... if that's possible. My favourite final tho is still the impossible comeback vs Melbourne. Maybe because I was sitting behind the goals.

Snap. I remember my dad taking me along to see Locket play and he didn't disappoint. He just monstered us. It wasn't until the following year though that I became a Crows supporter. Dad took me to see the Geelong game in round 23, 1992. I remember heading along in a Geelong guernsey I'd been given - I hadn't really been interested in AFL as it had been all about the mighty Roosters up until that point but Geelong had been my VFL team because Ablett... By the end of the game, the guernsey had been discarded, Scott Hodges had kicked 11, and we'd won by 90 points. I remember laughing my little arse off because after every Crows goal a bunch of drunk guys standing behind us would sing "What's up Pussycats? Whoaooo, whoaooo, whoaooo"... It was the funniest thing my 12 year old self had heard and I was officially a Crows fan. Good thing too. Just in time for 1993 - the single greatest year of footy going ever.

First game I ever attended was back in 2001 when the Crows smashed the Saints by 96 points at Colonial stadium. It was the game that Jason Cripps from the Saints had come back after not playing for 2 years. D. Jarman kicked 6 after not touching the ball in the first quarter and all I can remember from that game was I was sitting on the end of a row and sat half my body off the side of the chair, next minute a skinny St.Kilda supporter comes tumbling down the stairs and nearly collected me after being pushed by a big Crows bloke. Bit of a tussle and security came afterwards, but all in all, a very good first experience :)
