This isn't my r1 team prediction.
But just a thought on Milera to the midfield. I cant help but wonder if he can transition to midfield in the ilk of Shaun Burgoyne.

This 22 deliberately has plenty of guys that can rotate through the midfield, both on the ball and on the wings. I think this allows Fogarty into the 22 as the overall speed of the team is good. Plenty of guys that can also spend quality minutes providing run off the half backline with Milera/Gibbs/Sloane/Seedsman.

Sloane ain’t playing wing, Atkins will be.
Sloane would be centre.
Gibbs replaces Douglas in the forward line, pushing Douglas to the bench.
With a full strength side Mackay would be replaced with Knight. With a fit Smith, Atkins, Milera and Seedsman, what role would Mackay play?
Cheney wasnt re-singed and Knight plays in front of Mackay in a full strength team

Will be telling if Douglas and Mackay are available and neither get picked.
Hopefully this is the year we move on from both. I suspect it will boil down to the rise of Gallucci. If he can demand selection we may be in luck.
Either that or he will be in a back pocket to accommodate Richard, while Brodie Smith will come back as a key forward to accommodate David.
Who is the 7th defender?
Essentially you have Atkins who comes in to a wing rotation with Milera, Seedsman & Smith. When Atkins is on he plays wing only - Milera or Seedsman can switch to HB. When Smith is on he's always HB. You then have Knight who also rotates through small forward and wing.
I would look to push Gibbs/Gooch/Knight/Atkins to a wing spot and try to free up Milera across half back if possible. You want the ball in his hands as much as possible.

Because someone like Mackay at his age is depth. You said Full strength and MAckay does not make it if everyone is fit. Problem is we never have everyone fit. Yes I agree Cheney wil be rookied but I thought you meant right at this moment. I also think Hunter will be re-rookied.

Why is Mackay ahead of Knight!
Forgotten Murphy in the team and McPherson, Davis, Stengle and Rob in depth
Murphy to depth.
The rest are unproven in my eyes and not really that close to selection.

Knight is our best defensive small, whereas Mackay is nothing short of useless, and has been 150+ games.
It’s football and Sloane doesn’t play on the wing, he starts in the middle.
Mackay in the last 2 years hasn’t had all those players fit to contend with. Assuming they are all fit he doesn’t replace any of them, so what’s his role? Not a smartarse answer, a serious one please.
Everyone not in the 22 is depth so I’m named them all. Rob is one Sauce injury away from being in the side
