Your teams MVP for the decade

Scarlett for Geelong and he'd be a nomination for MVP of the league over the past decade, probably joining Goodes, Tredrea, Fletcher, Black, McLeod, Pavlich, Riewoldt, Harvey and Johnson. Adelaide's MVP over the past decade would in my opinion be the most interesting debate, particularly if Ricciuto's body had given him another couple of years in a FP.

You could make an argument that Brendan Fevola has been the LVP in the league over the past decade, as the teams he has played for over that period have been almost universally c**p, plus when he did change teams, his old team remained just as good, while his new team went down the toilet. Yeah there were mitigating circumstances, but Fev just seems to be better suited to cellar dwellers, doesn't he?

Pav is a complete footballer, one of the few players you see who could easily play any position on the ground, has the pace and tank to keep up with most midfielders, is a great forward, usually attracting 2-3 defenders, complete attacking/defensive player, inside/outside, marking, leading, you name it! He is a great leader and person, holds so much respect in the team and Perth as a whole.

I think most people east of the Nullarbor have missed out not seeing much of this man play. Plus I think his versatility has cost him some stability in his career, he usually has been filling holes in a pretty ordinary line-up for most of his time in the club.

I hope in the next couple of years in a much improved freo team he can really shine and cut some teams to shreds.

Dane Swan likely to win 3 B&F's in the decade and play 151 games.

Bucks only won 2 B&F's in the decade and played 130 games.

Bucks won a Norm Smith and a Brownlow, Swan won a Premiership.

I'm leaning slightly towards Swanny for his extra 20 games, extra B&F against tougher opposition within the team and a Premiership. Winning the B&F in a side containing Pendles, Thomas, Didak, Shaw etc all performing at a high level is harder than say, winning it in 2000 against a bunch of plodders.

Bucks and by a long, long way.

This is how I rate Melbourne's best players from 2000-2009:

1. Neitz (no question about this one, best-credentialled MFC player of all time)
2. White (quality player who was always one of the leagues top 2-3 ruckmen each year)
3. Yze (early in the decade he was a consistent and classy goalkicking midfielder)
4. McDonald (two-time B&F winner who went about his business without much fanfare)
5. Robertson (excellent goalkicker and marker given his lack of height)

Green, Bruce and Davey would probably be next in line.

What???

Norm Smith/Ron Barassi anyone? Forgetting their coaching exploits, which are irrelevant here. Both multiple premiership winning players, and outright stars. Barassi in particular. Possibly the best player in one of the greatest teams of all time...

Are you a cracky?

Yep clearly Scarlett for Geelong. Across 2000-2009:

Games: 222 (only missed 13 games in this period)
Premierships: 2007, 2009
All-Australian: 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009
Best and Fairest: winner (2003), runner-up (2001, 2004, 2005), fourth (2002), fifth (2007), sixth (2009), seventh (2006)

Cousins definitely, he was there carrying the team on his back before Judd got there
Judd, brownlow in his third year, premiership captain, norm smith in losing team, most valuable player, cousins caused too much conflict in the club through his own actions, how can you not pick squeaky clean judd?
