Rumour is that St Kilda offered West Coast Luke Ball and a first round pick (around pick 17) for Daniel Kerr.

Seems like a fairly good trade, would love just a little something extra for St Kilda, like a 3rd round pick or a player...

Apart from West coast and St kilda fans, what do you think, fair trade?

being realistic here this is what i hope eagles can make out of from there 'unwanted players..."
Mark Seaby:trade to team needing a ruckman for whatever they can get (hopefully 2nd round)
Ashley Hansen: trade to bulldogs for 3/4th round (about pick 60)
Brent staker: either trade to essendon for jetta or for pick 25approx if we throw in another pick50 or something.
Beau Wilkes: Hawthorn for pick60 or so or if both hansen and wilkes are traded maybe about pick45
Ben Mckinley: to carlton or essendon for pick 25 or so if u also thrown in pick 50 lets say
Brett jones: to brisbane for 4th round pick
Sam butler: to Port or adelaide for 3rd round pick

i'd be reasonbly happy if that shaped out and i wish Michael Embley would currently be on my list but unfortunately not:thumbsdown:

Natainui!!!!

Why on earth would Essendon give up Jetta for Mark Bolton v2? If we wanted a Bolton, we would have kept the one we had.

Some of the others are laughable to.

Why would u guys need jetta? if u asked me that seems like a reasonable trade (staker-jetta) as we need a crumbing forward, so jetta would be perfect + his a WA and i think staker would fit into the essendon line up quite well.

Lovett
Davey
Lovett-Murray

why the hell would u need jetta, he doesnt even get a game for u guys

Staker is a very ordinary footballer.

We already have 2 ordinary 3rd tall players in Mcphee and Lovett-Murray, what on earth are we going to do with Staker who is worse than both of those?

Wipe our ass? Please.

Kade Simpson and Brad Fisher(steak knives) for a second round pick.

Simpson's football has plateaued.

Would trade to draft for need in the second round.

Either a KPP, inside midfielder or quick wingman.

And I wouldn't trade Fevola for a top ten pick and a set of steak knives...

General, that is absolute Bunkum.

Simpson is our Barometer. When he plays well, we win. Last night being a fine example.

lets ask other people then

do u think a Staker - Jetta trade is a good idea?

No Leroy Jetta is no good, and Woodhouse has been on record saying he is the least talented of the Jetta's.

Highly doubted we would be interested in him, there's much better value in the draft. (Lewis Jetta or Travis Colyer)

As for Staker most likely destination is Sydney.

Heard this on Triple M this afternoon:

Quarters said that he had just heard from the press box that Hawthorn are after Dean Cox.

Jason Dunstall was asked about it and said that he didnt no anything about it.

Dont really want Luke Ball. StKilda with Daniel Kerr is a seriously scary though he would probably become your best midfielder if he remained uninjured, Kerr is going to play an import role for us over the next few years and he will get back to form eventually and with another 4-6 years of football in him (injuring permiting), for those reason i would want your first and second pick.

Your window is open and it would makes sense for you to go after another top line player in 2010, pick 16,17 or whatever you get is no top five or top ten pick and has that been in the 2009 draft it would have been of more value.

Im only throwing out ideas here but

Trade Mark Seaby for Shaun Burgoyne

Port need a new ruckman, and they can provide a fair crack as a NO 1 for Seabs and then shaun could slip straight into another small forward or back type player as a back up with not alot of years left for david wirrapanda you would think?

Also with Mckinly as another trade option even see if Essendon are interested in schofield aswell?

Mckinly and Schofield 2 Melbourne boys, and see if Essendon are interested in giving up their first 2nd round pick for that trade off?

Seaby for shaun you cant be serious ?? the only burgoyne you'd get from us for him is peter

this is very much adhoc and off the top of my head but i'm just looking ahead to trade week to see which players might be talked about as trade bait or as future delistings. im not including retirements that have already been announced.

before i get hounded, i am very excited about the pies finals and possible premiership but thought i'd throw this topic up for the sake of it.

i havent done much research so if i mention players that are under contract i apologise, pretty much only taking into account form, games played, injury history, years at club vs output etc....

here we go....

adelaide -
richard douglas - has been dropped a couple of times this year and is a victorian

brent reilly - also has been dropped afew times and another victorian that could raise interest from his home state

james sellar - was a gun junior but hasnt proved much in his gametime, been on the list for a couple of years now. maric, griffin, moran, tippett and mckernan might be the future.

brisbane -
jamie charman - will mitch clark, leuenberger plus young bart mcculloch be the future? they might keep charman for depth incase they get ravaged again next year in tall man dept.

rhan hooper - will the bad boy from pre-season be shopped around?

lachlan henderson - for no other reason than the question of him being settled away from his victorian home and limited gametime up forward

scott harding - daniel rich has gone immediately past him, he might be after more gamtime

carlton -
jordan bannister, adam bentick, cameron cloke, brad fisher, nick stevens - are there days on an AFL list numbered?

jake edwards - he's a CHF and cant get a game in a team that is crying for a CHF...will he want to move elsewhere?

collingwood -
let's face it, there are going to be players that the club will make decisions on at the end of every year, this year i think it will be:
shannon cox, chris bryan, ryan cook, danny stanley, tyson goldsack, sean rusling and of course anthony rocca.

essendon -
bachar houli - greater opportunities elsewhere??

leroy jetta - another gun junior who hasnt been able to maintain consistency, seems to be out of favour with knights.

jason laycock - possibly out of chances to get good senior form and to get his body right

jay nash - only 2 games this year has been injured for part of it though

fremantle - anyone got a spare broom?
kepler bradley, andrew browne, des headland, josh head - are there afl careers over considering their ages and games played this year?

marcus drum - only 3 games, he's been there for a while, could raise interest in victoria for a potential CHB

brett peake - apparently clubs are already enquiring about him

andrew foster - is 24 and has played 9 senior games

ryan murphy / adam campbell - may get more opportunities up forward with a move, has been close to a move for last two years

ryan crowley - almost gets talked about every year, will he come home to vic this year?

geelong -
opportunities plus ages are considered here.
d johnson, blake, djerrkura, gamble, tenace, west and wojcinski.
possibly one of t varcoe, byrnes and stokes too.

hawthorn -
t boyle - again, opportunities at 25 years of age now arent good, clubs need tall forward options like bulldogs, kangas, tigers and demons.

dowler - been in the system a while now and hasnt set the world on fire, another KPP.

thorp - same as dowler, but younger. if he's a forward he'll be behing roughead and franklin for a while.

morton - midfield opportunities, played 9 games only this year.

muston - same as morton and dowler but with 6 games this year

mark williams - may be wanted back home in WA for their forward lines

melbourne -
bell - half bank flanker, 24 years old played only 3 games this year

meesen, newton - limited game time, afl careers could be over

north melbourne -
depends if brad scott wants to clean out the house before or after his first year as coach.
if he cleans out before his first year it could be the end for:
edwards, jones, power, josh smith daniel harris, and shannon watt.
youngsters looking for a chance or change could be:
jess smith, leigh adams and lachie hansen.
smokie could be daniel wells

port adelaide -
brett ebert, steven salopek p burgoyne and tom logan - all have been dropped this year a couple of times. maybe choco will look to upgrade them.

danyle pearce - apparently sought by clubs already

toby thurstons - it could be over for Toby, only 10 games this year, saving grace may be that he's versatile and tall.

youngsters that havent shown a heap are:
p stewart, thomas, thompson, lower, and salter

richmond -
as we saw on the weekend it could be the end for alot of their players.
in the herald sun it wrote that st kilda may be interested in jordan mcmahon, personally i cant see why but he's one name that may feature.

mark coughlan - could he too be over, will a club take a punt on a former b&f at age 27?

cleve hughes - has shown glimpses but cant string 2 or 3 good ones on the trot, still only 22 years of age

oakley-nicholls - 21 years of age, hardly shown anything, could need a move

andrew raines - will the new coach keep him on, could raise interest for clubs seking a running defender.

jay schulz - KPP, only 24 years old. played only 4 games this year.

the rest of their spuds will probably get the chop rather than get shopped around.

st kilda -
obviously the reason for a player to leave this club would be in search of opportunities that they might not get at the saints.

these players are:
r clarke, x clarke, armitage, eddy, and l fisher.
maguire and ball will be the big ones though.

sydney -
brabazon (23), buchanan (26), and malceski (25) could be all after more gametime.

days should be numbered for playfair.

west coast -
butler, hansen, b jones, nicoski, seaby and spangher could get new clubs.
will be interesting to see if kerr can be prized away in a big deal. same goes for the victorian mckinley.

western bulldogs -
addison - 11 games, callan - 1 game, everitt - 6 games, williams - experiment could be over, tiller - 5 games and cameron wight - 200cm's and versatile with 0 games played this year could all be mentioned, they have made no secret that they need KPP especially forwards.

Would like to see Colin Sylvia at Adelaide, would Melbounre give him up? and would they except Brent Reilly and a 3rd rounder for him?

Yes we would give anyone up for the right deal but you are underating Sylvia. He is getting it together just as he enters the prime age bracket. He was the 3rd draft pick in 2003. Doubt a draft pick deal could be done for him but it would definately need to be well in the top 10 before Melb sat at the table. Your second round pick plus Taylor Walker would be a better starting point given our requirements.

Any small defenders coming out of contract or worth looking at, I wouldnt mind seeing these at bomberland:

Jacob Surjan
Kyle Cheney
Dean Polo
Jared Petrenko

just to name a few, any others worth looking at?

I like Cheney but we have a few good mid/running defenders. What would Bombers want? Would probably need a package deal with draft picks and players involved.
