(1) Richmond get off to a terrible start and fans start calling for Hardwicks head by round 10
(2) West coast to win the premiership, hardly lose a game for the year
(3) GWS don't win a game

Richmond. Offseason. Improvement. Guarantee.

This seems vaguely familiar somehow.

If Richmond fans say this every preseason they would've been correct in:

2012, 2011, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2005

That's 6/8 years, including the last three in a row. No wonder it seemed familiar.:)

1 - Enormodrama as all non Vic preliminary finals (West Coast v Freo and Sydney v Adelaide) means one must be played at MCG for contractual reasons. Tears in WA particularly bitter when it is them.

That rule was abolished after 2004. Both prelims in 2005 and 2006 were played at AAMI and Subi.

There is absolutely no guarantees that the Tigers improve this year. They lost 1 game to injury for their best 8 players last season in an extraordinary run and despite recruiting Chaplin, their backline is still very undersized.

North can maintain their run and be around the 6-10 mark.

Look, it is more than likely that you will improve but it is by no means a given. It is categorically a fact that you had an amazing run with injuries last year, and for the Tigers sake you will again hope that again occurs but it will be very unlikely. A stronger Richmond (as would a strong Dons) is great for the comp but you don't have a top 4 list and mediocre depth. If all things align, you might be lucky to finish 5th or 6th.
Who do you consider best 8?

Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Maric, Tuck, Foley, Rance, Grimes would be mine. That's 26 missed.

Vickery - 13 games missed, played injured
Grimes - 13 games missed
Griffiths - 13 games
Foley - 12 games
Batchelor - ~6 games (was left out for 1 or 2 games)
Conca - 4 games
Edwards - 2 games
Maric - 1 game
Morris - 1 game

Moore was unavailable until the Gold Coast game, then retired 3 games later. Astbury was also unavailable until round 22.

So Rance played a full season but the clubs next best 4 key defenders missed more than half the season. That's why it was undersized.

Fringe/depth players King, Dea, Helbig and White also missed games through injury. Helbig most of the season.

Not a terrible run of injury but certainly not a dream run when you consider Foley, Vickery and the backline.

**** this Grimes kid is good!

Seriously, you had a dream run and if you can't see that then you are just making excuses. You got 22 games out of:

Cotchin
Deledio
Rance
Newman
Tuck
Riewoldt (yes, I ranked him in your top 8 even if you don't)

Martin lost 2 games because of ill-discipline, so that shouldn't count
Maric 1 game because you were "playing" the Suns

Many, many teams would take that run with injury.

Whilst I mock Grimes, I can see how you missed him and Griffiths even if I don't believe they are in your top 8, but they are structurally important. I'll retract on that. Whilst Vickery had one semi-reasonable season, he still has a lot to prove IMO as he seems like the type of bloke he could get way ahead of himself. Wouldn't surprise me if he was a "going to" player for the rest of his career. Big year for Tyrone if the Tigers are going to go from also-ran to a genuine top 8 contender.

It may seem like I have something against the Tigers, but truth be known I enjoy watching them like most AFL supporters do. I just have a chip on my shoulder from the bullshit BF banter that I now have come a part of. A top 4 of Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond and Essendon would really be something to behold. It's a good hate...

I forgot Riewoldt. Woops.

Shouldn't count? Count to what? I didn't mention him but he did miss games.

Sounds like Hurley :p

There you go. Cheers.
I think it still exists to some degree, as in X finals need to played at the MCG over Y years. But they made it more flexible so it didn't have to be one a year and you could 'bank' them basically. The Vic dominance over the last 6 years has meant that it's very unlikely a non Vic team would play a home final at the MCG under the current agreement, but if there was an unprecedented run of non MCG finals it could still happen as I understand it?

1. Geelong will make top 4 (which is kinda annoying)

2. Only one of Richmond or Carlton will make the 8 at the expense of north

3. Port adelaide will be in contention for the 8, but will miss out narrowly along with essendon

1. Bulldogs win 2 games for the year wrapping up the wooden spoon
2. Adelaide slide down the ladder only to stage a remarkable comeback and squeeze into the 8
3. Fremantle to fly under the radar and last until at least the prelim

1. Adelaide vs WCE Grand Final (WC 2013 Premiers)
2. Sam Mitchell finally wins the Brownlow medal and also wins his 5th Hawthorn Peter Crimmins medal award
3. Tom Hawkins kicks 80-85 goals and wins the coleman medal playing all 22 games + finals

Cotchin says no :p

I wouldn't be surprised if Cotchin wins it he is a gun, but if Mitchell has another good year and we win enough games, he is more then capable. He has polled 56 votes in 2 years, having said that I wouldn't mind seeing Cotchin win it. :thumbsu:
