Chris Judd went to Carlton ‘for the money’ that turned out pretty well.think this investment is too high risk and its clear he’s going for money which may not sit well.
At his best he’s worth the money but he’s had far too many injuries and it’s a bigger load in the midfield
Blues are in a similar spot to the Lions of 2018, good youth and recruitment in the previous couple of seasons means they're only 1 or 2 really good recruits from rocketing up.
it’s not a concern. Far from it. Just an observation. About Zac Williams on the Zac Williams RFA thread. Where’s the sensitivity coming from?
I think you have concerns in your midfield. Dow, O’Brien and Stocker were high picks but haven’t shown much. I’d have thought a bona fide mid to help Cripps out is where you’d spend your cash.
I like Williams. He’s pretty handy off HB. Wouldn’t have thought that’s where you’d want to be targeting TBH. Who is coming in at 800-900k to be that B+ to A on baller that can give Cripps a chop out? Pretty strong list apart from the midfield. Is that really a surprise?
Wow that's a lot of money for a HBFer / occasional Mid with a history of injury problems

Every single mention of the GWS offer has been 4 years not 5, go find me a link to an article stating 5 or have a nice dayLol are you drugged?
200k difference per year. Giants had put up a 700k offer over 5 years.
Why are you so delicate about it.
Should be over the moon you got a talent and a good bloke like him.
Carlton supporters: haha we are getting him for far less than North Melbourne offered.
On finding out Carlton offerred more: it doesnt matter what you pay, you just gotta get the deal done.
Next thing you know a couple of mid level players leave as the cap starts to bite.
checks to see if in Brad Crouch thread. Nah play on.think this investment is too high risk and its clear he’s going for money which may not sit well.

Who cares what his intentions are, he’s an excellent player who makes our team better
he was sold a future that didn’t exist

My favourite part was when Carlton posters started saying "we sat him down and said if its money you're after and not success, then this isn't the club for you"Carlton supporters: haha we are getting him for far less than North Melbourne offered.

The system is a joke.
Dusty stayed with Richmond on a lower deal than North’s offer, some $200k a year less. Yet he made $300k+ signing memorabilia outside the cap.
Granted, Dusty made the absolute right decision in every way. Forget what he achieved onfield, he was always going to earn more at Richmond long term.
At bigger clubs star players have elite market and post career oppotunities that smaller clubs will have no chance at competing with.
So imo $200k-$300k a year difference in offers means nothing for stars at bigger clubs.
Yes, I'm sure the entire list management team forgot to factor this in when putting together their offer . Seriously, do you not think they plan and budget accordingly?Wow that's a lot of money for a HBFer / occasional Mid with a history of injury problems
Good luck to the Blues but at that price ....... no thanks!!
Especially when they have a lot of high profile youngsters who will want big contracts in the coming years
You would want to hope u make finals next year either way I think Blues fans best be prepared to lose a few.

In any case, the list situation is orders of magnitude better than it was 5 years ago.Carlton supporters: haha we are getting him for far less than North Melbourne offered.

Please, the outside opportunities for players at Melbourne clubs is still better than the Northern clubs.
Maybe go to the draft and build that way instead of throwing everything at a saviour?
