My biggest, and only, concern with Cody is that he is right under their noses as an NGA…considering they will most likely have pick

for the next couple of years at least there’s a bigger chance than normal he could get picked at his rightful draft number if he continues to develop.
Prefer that he stops showing up to anything with those campaigners

Everyone will know he's good, just like everyone new Daicos was good. You don't need to have him in you NGA to know whether a kids a gun, especially if they're at the point end.

The AFL have screwed us again…..simple.
How? We’ll still get access to top 3 player on the draft, which is pretty great given we’ll be picking 18th.

I thought it was pretty obvious. We could use multiple higher picks (3rd / 4th rounders like others previously) to get what we want except now we need multiple lower picks to get the same job done.
I was making a back to back flag joke but tbh, the system is a ****ing rort and I have no issue with the AFL cleaning it up, even if the timing is less than ideal from our perspective.

He's a freak of nature. Genuinely moves and plays like Fyfe but with better skills. His work in tight is outstanding in games I've watched him.

Just read on afl.com that Richmond has access to Cody Walker through its NGA zone! What the F!!!!

The fact that he is even ‘zoned’ to them just highlights how wrong this criteria is. Just plain incomprehensible that an ex-AFL son is NGA.

Yes and no, Cody Walker sounds like a real talent and he will have to nominate us. Not all father sons are stars, so in reality it may give them 2 options for them to be noticed.
Either way he is going to cost us once they change the bidding system as will Peter Deans son by the sound of it. No more "free kicks" for top end talent.

Cody will pick us but I dont see the Tigers doing us any favours at the bid table.
If Tigers are dead last still it could work out well. Rare for clubs to make their kid miss out on the 'number 1 pick' title...and all the hype and presumed extra money that comes with it
I think if Walker is a standout they bid. They'll already likely have 2 number 1s by that stage. If it's a 50/50 call they probably just pick their kid.
In either case, we'll want to go into the draft with enough points to match pick 1 if Cody is thereabouts. Don't want to make Cody a live pick.
The new points system also adds more incentive to make clubs pay up. Can wipe valuable picks off the board and bump yourself up.

Doug Cochrane looks a pretty special talent for someone his size reckon they will be very happy with him
