Well... we have a better recent record at KP than we do against the Swans at Optus, last week notwithstanding.True, I do tend to huff the copium, but I think we have more chance of beating Sydney at home than Geelong at Kardinya Park.

Bolton, Voss and Ras have all played more games than the player they replaced and are younger. Makes sense. In an interesting quirk, with our three changes we have become both younger and more experienced than last weeks team.
Going so tall against Sydney makes no sense either. They've got probably the worst tall forward line in the comp.8 defenders is excessive unless we are playing chapman as a mid.
Draper is getting exposure but the combo of Ryan, Draper, Pearce and Cox is slow as treacle. Both foot speed and ball movement.
They strangely brought in an extra tall this week. If I were them, I would have gone smaller to exploit our height but whatever.Going so tall against Sydney makes no sense either. They've got probably the worst tall forward line in the comp.

Banfield for the sub. Chapman is talented enough to play anywhere.
Help me out here, has Heath ever been tried forward of the centre?
De Boer and now Switkowski (arguably)I like the idea, but do we ever do this (use a forward in a predominantly shutdown role)?

Draper has leg speed superior to that of our other tall defenders. Probably has quickness of mind compared to the other six-or is it seven- defenders.
I really hope Ras starts on field and seizes his opportunity tomorrow otherwise I'm gunna have a really hard time defending him in the future.Bolton adds that venom to the forward line
I hope JLO has both he and Reid as deep forwards at the feet our our deepest key forward
They will reap chaos
I hope Ras starts and isn't sub as we have not enough mids to go with Sydney
Banfield could be a handy sub as he could provide some run as a winger in the 4th quarter
I think this team is a bit better balanced however feel we are one defender too many. We really need Young back in the team.

I got no problem with Banfield as the sub, maximises impact and minimises opportunity to stuff it up.
I know what you mean about the one too many defenders, I think I counted 8 this week. That is unless we are gunna give Chappy a run through the middle more this week. That'd have me licking my lips.
If he and MJ lived up to the hype around them when they were drafted, we have a midfield of Bray, Sebba, Young and those 2.I've seen Ras a few years ago play really well against Sydney on the wing over in Sydney
I hope he can fund form as Young is still a while away. We need a few more mids than just relying on Serong and Brayshaw
That is fair comment on Draper. I agree that at times he second guesses and passes to a player under the pump by handball. He needs to be challenged to take the game on and trust his instincts. Like that game he played against Sydney over in Sydney. Run through the lines etc. The team didn’t handle the heat last week across the board. I also feel at times Draper respects his more mature team mates too much as in when they call for the ball he gives without considering those around them. He is only what 15-20games into his career and his performances have far exceeded my expectations. Developing nicely.Quickness of mind isn’t proven. He sells team mates into pressure by hand when he isn’t under pressure. A concerning trait. He did it at least four times against the cats. He had time to kick and to make a decision on where to kick but rushed hands to a player immediately tackled or turn over.
I want him to be great. I also want us to have calm users out of the back half. It is rough on Draper when Pearce was one of the culprits on the weekend. And Ryan wasn’t doing basics like keeping the ball in front of him.
Hopefully he grows through it and turns into the star many think he is currently.

One thing that gives me confidence on the player I think Josh Draper will become is that in match sims this preseason I saw him taking the game on constantly while looking elite when doing so. Obviously match sims arent even close to the intensity of actual AFL games but give him another year or two playing at AFL level and I think we will be seeing more of his rebounding skills at AFL level. That is fair comment on Draper. When Ras has a full season in the team to pick up the tempo and get AFL experience, like Johnson has been given, and then still doesn't seize his opportunity, then I will have trouble defending him.I really hope Ras starts on field and seizes his opportunity tomorrow otherwise I'm gunna have a really hard time defending him in the future.
