How did Edwards go? Any of our afl listed players have a good game?
Edwards was OK, I'd have rated our AFL listed players 1. Cheney [until doing his hamstring AGAIN] 2. Wilson 3. Signorello 4. O'Brien 5. Edwards 6. Davis 7. Dear 8. Hunter 9. Jarman 10. Himmelberg 11. Gallucci. I'd excuse Himmelberg though with virtually no decent supply. That's how I saw it, others may disagree.

I don't know who the hell we have in the SANFL, however, getting poleaxed by 95 leads me to believe it's a bunch of refugees from the USAFL

Our best starting midfield on SAT was ROB, Gallucci, Wilson, Edwards, with Signorlla, Jarman on the Outside.
Missing From the SANFL side due to Injuries either to players or Player missing in the AFL, assuming they are not selected best in the AFL in which case another from the AFL will drop down.
CEY (B Crouch), Hampton (Injured), Gibson (Injured), Pohokle (Injured), Knight(Injured),
Some of these could be playing next week,
SANFL side could have up to 7 AFL inclusion
in Otten and Pohokle (unknown what injury) Hampton, Keith, Knight (fitness build up), Gibson if not selected for the AFL, and one player dropped to make room for Lynch
Those in's improves our Midfield and Defense.
In 2/3 week it will be CEY, (M Crouch returns) and B Crouch playing for Fitness. Along with Cheney playing intercepter rather than the main defender.
It was not just a case of too many Top ups but the Type of player missing from the team.

That was my thought

List of 45? for Senior teams. Rookie List of 5 . Supplementary list of Academy prospects of 5. Those who dont play ie mostly rookies and Academy types still get the benefit of training in the system. You could still farm them out if you really required them to have a game. But the averages suggest injuries will help in the rotation of players
Too expensive I'd say

For what it's worth over the next 2 weeks the SANFL side should get Gibson, Hampton, Keath, Knight and whoever comes out for Lynch back. Add in Poholke and Otten.

Adding that experience will drastically change thr group.

Just on that we are allowed to have 1 marquee player in our SANFL side, why haven't we gone down that road with an ex AFL player? Someone of Summerton's ilk would have been handy yesterday to support our youngsters.

Unfortunately that refers to a marquee player being able to be selected before fit players from the AFL list, not being able to have one in the first place. We still need to have the eligibility of being a retired, previously listed player, over a certain age with a certain number of years on the list. We apparently haven't had anyone able to fit the criteria for a few years.

We should have a few eligible candidates in 2019. Mackay, Otten, and Cheney would all fit the bill quite nicely.

I would definitely make an attempt to keep Otten around as a SANFL captain. Would depend on him getting an AFL offer elsrwhere I imagine.
Otten will retire at the end of the year in reckon.

You can see he's already thinking about it.

He's already climbed his mountain and deserves much credit for doing it.
