Chris voicing Brad’s opinion? So Chris Scott of all people with the balanced opinion….
I've been thinking for a while now that the interstate clubs should set up their own league and F the VFL right out of all the money we give to their floundering clubs - then we'd have a smaller league where we can add in the Tassie Tigers (they can't complain about that name with Richmond in the VFL, can they?) and the Darwin Dingoes or somesuch, ten teams, play each other twice home and away, it couldn't be fairer and we wouldn't be propping up those losers in Melbourne any more. Or take Collingwood (much as I hate them) and say, Geelong along for the ride for twelve teams if you want. How good would that be? Imagine the howling from the Victorian media!!!This is the product of the Melbourne football bubble.
From their entitled perspective the rest of the league are essentially NPC's. A necessary evil to help flesh out "their football game"
The AFL owns all the teams don't they ?I've been thinking for a while now that the interstate clubs should set up their own league and F the VFL right out of all the money we give to their floundering clubs - then we'd have a smaller league where we can add in the Tassie Tigers (they can't complain about that name with Richmond in the VFL, can they?) and the Darwin Dingoes or somesuch, ten teams, play each other twice home and away, it couldn't be fairer and we wouldn't be propping up those losers in Melbourne any more. A league source confirmed that Dillon can appeal a tribunal decision on the basis “an error of law has occurred” or “the decision of the tribunal is so unreasonable that no tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it”.
Hey stop ruining my dreams with reality! The AFL owns all the teams don't they ?
Or at least have the rights
We also wish to advise that due to unexpected localised flooding at the Fox studios, normal broadcasting will be unavailable until a shipment of tissues arrives
Making the decision all the more curious was that the man who oversaw the panel’s decision is this year’s tribunal chairman.
For several years, Gleeson was the AFL’s go-to legal advocate. Previously, he would’ve done everything in his power to eradicate incidents just like Rioli’s.
“The tribunal will be astute to uphold any charge where a player was initially intending to contest the ball, changed that intention and in doing so breached his duty of care. That is not this case,” Gleeson said.
“Willie Riolihad eyes for the ball as he entered this contest. There is no doubt he braced for contact a split second before contact, but when doing so, did not cease to contest the ball. The way in which he did so was not unreasonable.”PLAYERCARDSTART15Willie Rioli

They just can’t get their peabrains around this can they.
Firstly, as the AFL’s legal advocate, prosecuting players was literally his job but now as Tribunal chairman his job is to weigh up the evidence presented and make a decision. It’s not a hard concept to understand
Secondly, given his previous role he would be uniquely qualified to see through any bullshit offered by the defence given his years of experience in trying to point it out
It’s as if anyone disputing the verdict hasn’t read his reasons for the decision
The determination was that he made a reasonable attempt to contest the ball and in doing so didn’t breach his duty of care
How is this so hard to understand
Stop speaking sense. I did a pub test, saw a couple of photos and worst angle from the video and I'm outraged! Rioli had no eyes for the ball as he was running back with the flight, he was just looking at Rowell. Outraged. OUTRAGED. Fabric of the game. Blah blah blah.
