That's not a bad idea, I had a wingman going out but we have midfielders who can play forward. Kennedy and Cerra can.

I reckon Walsh would be a handful off a half forward flank the way he runs both ways at speed and can play. If we push him high up the field and he uses his running ability to run hard back towards goal he could be a real weapon. Would run the hell off some poor defender. Could also sit Cripps forward a little more, he's been deadly drifting forward this year, been kicking a heap of goals.
Spot on. Cripps, Kennedy, Cerra, De Koning when he's not rucking and even Setters can all rotate forward.

You look at the Bulldogs' midfield with Bont, Treloar, Dunkley, Macrae, Hunter, Smith, Libba - most of them spend large chunks of their game floating through the wing or forward flank. These rotations are key to the midfield and overall team's success.

Gone are the days when we used to play Cripps, Walsh and Ed Curnow at every centre bounce. :grinv1:

The Bulldogs are a much better side than Port. And Port missing lots of players.
I think Vossy and the team have the right system to beat Hawks.
I think we should be too strong.
Go Blues
Would rejoice a win over the Hawks
Hawks v Port game at AO port has Gray ,Allir out plus were inaccurate...tough grinding game week before against Lions really burnt them they ,ran out of steam final quarter ....typical scenario afterwards[not good]

Hawks attack were up and about V Port...Breust,Guno,Lewis etc.....

Carlton needs to defeat the Hawks in this round....need to make sure the mids get the required dominance to ensure a steady feed to the forwards defending anything effectively that may rebound

Will required a steady focal work ethic to defeat them and let our larger size and grunt to do the rest but carefully !!

It dont have to be pretty ..its dont have to be by 40 points ...just another win

Beware our new play style will be being picked apart and analysed as we speak by the various tacticians of the enemy...the honeymoon may soon turn to hard work and should be anticipated

Looks like being a good game going by the way they played last night, both teams playing a good brand of footy…

Big game for us, need to stand up and make a statement with a win…

Going with the bro and he’s clan (4kids) of hawkers along with a few mates, can’t wait….
Sunday sunny☀️ 22 degrees…

I would say Voss rates himself on hard work when the chips are down without any advantages...

We need Walsh to step back up !! ....LOB looked good V Dogs and we need more !
Setterfield needs to step it up to maintain his spot in the futures.truth is we have depth for these spots on our refound list that not only has some very interesting A graders nicely accompanied buy some nice depth with ED,Fog,Newnes,Honey,Dow.....all waiting.......its astonishing how the planets are lining up at the moment just need to turn our current predicament into a string of wins...Voss has to in the mean time keep them working and pushing even more..the Club will voice the droll requirement with guys such as Kennedy,Doc,Walsh,Ed.....who are renound workers and thats pretty much all...just work and pretty much win every game and thats possible with the current availablity of players:carlton:

Maybe Durdin gets a rest :thumbsu:

I'm not worried about the Port result.

But I think the Hawks are doing something slightly different in that they're less fussed whether they win the ball and are, as I understand it, putting a lot of emphasis on accurate goal kicking in their recruitment decisions.

It will be good to see how we stack up against this emerging system.

They always did focal on their kicking with gunston Breust and formerly Buddy.....Hawks are since the past decade place an ultimate example of a dower professionalism described as grinding teams down..sit on them first half and play with them and study them then blow them away second half..

the necessary changes will be needed to counter any Hawks planning to dissect our system flow...if their forward combo is currently working Carlton will need to address that

Firstly, I don't want Newman dropped. I am just attempting to understand the logic for those WHO WANT him dropped.
Feel free to find a post in the last 2 months of me saying he should be dropped, I say the opposite.

Newman v Williams

Disposals - 19 v 19
Marks - 7 v 5.5
Tackles - 1 v 0.5
Clangers - 3.5 v 3

They have roughly the same stat line in the first two weeks, yet one is constantly abused on this board and the other is not.

Williams is NOT in my line of thinking, NEITHER is Newman, do you understand now?
Those 4 stats indicate a complete game do they? Interesting....

Lob is staying
More games he gets the better he is getting
Tend to agree with this. Was in the LOB a bust camp yet he is clearly improving with each outing. Clearly needs some self belief which seems to be growing with each game. Dropping him in and out will only see what we already have to date. Was at the game lob had the odd clanger but was by no way in the bottom handful of players. Good on him.

LOB needs to stop diving, he's not Michael Walters.

Made so bad errors, wouldn't be fussed if he stays in our out.

Yeah his flop for the free against the Doggies was pretty bad so much so it got assessed by the MRP.

Also really disappointing was Buckley during the pies game when he described Ginnivan as having a “unique skill at lowering his body” which Dunstall rightly jumped on him for the comment and called it for what it was…staging!

Similar to the way the AFL have approached player dissent to umpires I actually hope they stamp it out of the game because I’ve seen a few shockers already this season.

I’m flummoxed at guessing who goes out, aside from Fogarty.

Cerra & Martin will come in (and Voss🙂); of that I have no doubt.

LOB & Setterfield have been very good on the wing, and, along with Owies, crucial link players. And despite having a modest game, Durdin has been terrific with the pressure.

And I’m really liking TDK’s role and you get the feeling he’s ready to tear a game apart.

So yeah, I have no idea.
Nobody deserves to be dropped for this weeks clash, but Cerra and Martin are certain inclusions IMO.
We might have to sacrifice Fog and Fish I reckon.

I've caught both of the Hawks games so far, it's hard to draw a line through their form, as they weren't massively impressive against North and then had a night out with the goal kicking accuracy last night , against a poor Port effort. I guess we'll be a pretty good gauge as to how they're going, safe to say they won't be taken lightly.

So far each of our first three games has been described as a statement game by multiple people in the preview thread.

Personally I'm looking forward to our first non-statement game of the year. Not sure when that will be. Maybe round 6 against the Dockers?

Carlton App > Mobile Membership > Log in with your email & password (Carlton Acc) > Tickets will be there.

Save to Apple Wallet or Android Google Pay thingy.

Available 96hrs before each game.

Could I please ask a quick membership question? I’m a GA member and wanted to lock in a reserved seat for the weekend. I went to the Ticketek site and put in my member barcode, but most sections came up as “Allocation Exhausted.” I ended up paying for a seat on Level 2, but for future reference are more seats released 4 days before the game, or would these have been claimed already?
Cheers in advance.

Surely we need to make a statement in our first non-statement game?

Just had a quick look at our game on Ticketek.

Not all Bays/Sections are available.

Happens every year & more sections get released in the week leading up to the game.

I didn't enter my Barcode (have reserved CC) and this is what is available as of today.
