We can all play this game, look at rounds 1-2, if you think the ball will be flying into your fwd line like it did against Nth and Port you haven't watch much footy.

Lets reverse the game....

Curnow V who?
Harry V who?
TDK v who?
SOS v who?
Our backline is our strongest part of the ground and we're about to add Will Day to it.

Curnow and McKay are good players.

The other 2, exactly. Who??

I was at the Hawks v Blues game at the MCG last year and we made the game a slow, ultra defensive, low scoring slogfest and we still lost comfortably (my eyes have yet to fully recover from the horror)

I'd much rather we continue our current attacking gameplan and go for the win.

If we lose, so be it. At least it will still be entertaining to watch.
I was at the game too. Carlton were going slow, not hawthorn.
Carlton also went ultra defensive up forward, and had 4 players tagging our rebounders

Oi

Dont come here acting like you are some unstoppable juggernaut and acting like a tool

You were accurate finishing away from being 1-1

Be polite and have constructive conversations

But if you need some answers to those questions

Curnow - Sic
Harry - Frost
TDK- DGB
SOS gets toweled up by Hardwick or whoever we want
Dogs blew that game. They generated plenty of shots, missed five shots in a row in part of the last quarter.

I would lay money on the blues to win but the beauty of being an up and coming side is we have nothing to lose.

Just reading your early replies with regards to your forwards v Carlton's forwards.

I would consider focusing on using Gov's opponent and make him consider defending him, otherwise he can be used as third man up.
We've started to use defensive wingers, Setterfield and the like are covering the rebound. Just incase Saad or Docherty roam up the field.

I would also think about a defensive midfielder during the centre bounce, we've had a few easy takeaways this year. If you can even the forward contest and give your currently great defensive unit a chance and rebound nicely, that will go a long way to beat us.

What I see and like is that the the quality and finish of sat nights game would have given us so much confidence. Expect the band wagon Blues fans to be loud so sat nights build up of song and jeers will hold us in good stead. Shout out to Tom Phillips has done some very good things in past few weeks. Gets in and gets the tough ball and always looking to link up. I see plenty of upside to Tom under Sam Mitchell.

Would I be right in thinking gov would go to the resting ruckman and try to peel off? McEvoy can be a big threat up forward if left against an undersized opponent so is capable of drawing a third man away from the others or just going as the main target with the right match up. No good at chasing though. Same with Mitch Lewis more or less but can defend a bit better against a defender looking to run.

I think we have showed the last couple of weeks we can move our key forwards around to exploit match up but it’s early days and I’m sure teams will come up with strategies to impose the match ups they want.

Had a quick browse of the Carlton thread for this match. Gee the arrogance set in quickly. No looking forward to a tight contest over there.

After Thursday I expected only we could beat ourselves but then after watching your game its a tough call really who has started better. After making the mistake once before of thinking we had finally got the edge on you back in 2017 I don't go into this any more or less confident then the last 2 weeks, should be a good game.

McGovern can't defend 1v1. He's proven a decent interceptor but if we have quick ball movement to Gunston vs Gov in a 1v1 we'll be laughing.

Conversely reckon Weitering will give Lewis a lot of trouble deep. Superb defender.
I think weathering has looked a lot like schoenmakers deep in defence. He seems far more comfortable 45m out

Don't come here with a shitty combative attitude.

This is not the Carlton board.

Come in peace, or don't come

Lol, they both be the best key fwd in your team

Or... if you want to go all time:

Jack Gunston - 13 seasons, 404 goals

McKay, Curnow, TDK and Jack Silvagni together - 23 seasons, 285 goals

Surely the only changes will be those forced by injury, so potentially Wingard out.

I’ve been really impressed with how the Blues have been playing - I’ll admit to be sceptical of them pre season.

This will be a huge test for us. Forward and back we should match up nicely, reckon they’ve got us in the middle. not entirely worried about the result, but hope we continue to improve and put in another solid 4 quarter effort like we did against the Power.
