Funding sources for AFL clubs:

West Coast o_O

Also interesting to note that Port's total income (including "venues / social clubs") is actually slightly more than ours.

I like this:

Note: Port Adelaide sponsor income not available. Some membership and gate figures also include other minor items.

Port membership and gate figures are evidently minor items...

The 80 poker machines at the Port Club and Prince of Wales Hotel would be a chunk of that difference.

Can some one explain why Port get $2.6 million a year more than us in AFL distributions?

We both have the same crappy stadium deal, one could argue we get worse time slots than they do and they have pokie revenue.

$2.6 million a year added to our bottom line would be nice.

We have been consistently in the bottom handful of money received from the AFL for the last 20 years so why are we still not a member run club? Why do we have to answer to the AFL?

****ing Chapman, Olsen needs to pull his finger out.

Why on earth would Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton get more than us when their memberships and income out strip us. Yeah it's fair and balanced...my arse!

This is an interesting set of figures as well, no wonder we get so many shitty time slots, we turn up regardless of when the AFL schedule our games.

Also highlights the major "bandwagon" clubs, no surprise the "big" Vic clubs are the worst offenders.

Huge differences for Carlton, Hawthorn, Melbourne and even Geelong.

Not as bad but still a large difference for Collingwood, Richmond and Essendon.

Bloody AFL are so Vic centric it is infuriating and was one of the reasons I've taking a step back from footy.

Poker Machines are one of the biggest blight on society.

Literally bleeding the people of the community of money that with so little can afford to lose.

For Port it's because they get lower crowds etc, they're a smaller club so get more from equalisation.

Those big Vic clubs get similar actual AFL distributions to the Crows, or less, but these figures also include a couple of bits of money the AFL administers - AFL Memberships and Docklands signage money. Those are transferred to the relevant clubs after being centrally collected, but they're basically normal club income, not part of equalisation. Unfortunately the AFL doesn't split them out in their annual report, so you get this skew by a couple million.

Didnt Neal Balme do this?
Think he may have been playing coach, but not when they won a flag in 1984.

His brother Craig was full back though.

Cornes was probably last playing coach for South.

Blight alos with woodville

Correction- they won a flag when he was still playing in 1982... but don't think he played in the grand final.

I don't know why I haven't asked this yet, but what the **** is Mason Cox wearing?
