English would’ve given O’Brien something to think about at least.

Didn’t deserve to win so I’m glad we didn’t.

Hopefully Khamis and Jones can have good games today. And put their hand up for next week.

Was always going to be hard when the opposition defence had prime Scarlett, Rance and Jakovich. FMD we made their defence look unstoppable. Kudos to Dunks and Adz, gave it their all. Baz is a liability by foot.

Also even if you put aside the few head scratching moments by Daniel it will be a massive mistake to give him anything more than a 3 year deal.

They did. And we didn’t.

We play a better brand and have a far better list. We underperformed terribly.
So, as a very very staunch supporter of the current coaching regime and massive critic of anyone who suggests otherwise, at what point will you be concerned if our list continues to underperform?
As I’ve stated I’m 100% Bevo but we’re 2 wins currently which is massively underperforming by all.

Bailey Smith in almost every centre bounce for 6 CP, 0 zero centre clearances, 3 tackles and 69% DE. I'm absolutely fine with him on a wing or half forward but I don't see any inside mid in him.
Reckon he listened to much to David King during the week frothing about what a clearance beast he was and how he was going to be the number 1 midfielder in the game at some point this year.

Is that what Cede Nullis means?

Im not good at the latin.

I used this statement because if I said what I really thought I'd get shot down on this forum. But I see I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't because even this comment gets a smart backside comment for trying to bite my tongue!

So at what point is it the coaching or the players? I’m 100% Bevo but today the team did not respond to any challenge and that’s on both. Adelaide are shite and we lost and appeared to have no response. We currently have 2 wins. That’s on the whole club.
We’ve lost very good coaches. despite what some on here say, if that’s an issue we need to address it. Why is our soft cap such an issue we can’t keep coaches but other teams can poach them? Bevo pretty much said we can’t afford to keep them.

It’s both at the moment. The Swans game was the only one where I thought we played a very good almost 4 quarters.
That’s in 6 weeks of footy. It’s bloody concerning.

At this rate, we are on our way to our worst season under Bevo. If that’s not a sign things aren’t going well, I don’t know what is.

As others have pointed out, we have injuries, but the lack of composure, effort, skill errors and leadership on-field today was a disgrace. We should be doing better regardless of who’s out.

I agree, our assistant situation is a cluster ****. Not changing them up over the last few years came back to bite us and now we’re seeing “rookie” coaches take the lines.

A lot of his work is in tandem with Hunter. I said we’d miss Hunter, we always do 😟
its amazing how one situation can almost derail a season and produce a sliding doors moment.

Hunter having personal issues, doesnt try in the final practice match against essendon, we lose narrowly and hence are lower in confidence coming into round 1. Hunter plays early despite nearly being dropped, is bog average, we drop 2 games we could have won against carlton and richmond, he finally takes leave, we bring in McComb to replace him, and we lose by a point to the Crows, season essentially over.

It was a joke aimed squarely at the playing group and its insipid display today.

Im sorry if you took it personally.

Anyways this a forum. Say whatever you like to whomever you like.

If you cant use this place to vent after todays efforts, what's the point of it.

I tend to look at the fact we have 7 of our best 22 out, including full back full forward and ruck. Anyone who thinks we have the depth to deal with that in a tight comp doesn’t really understand how football works. Adelaide came to play - credit to them. We didn’t play well - but are a touch unsettled at the moment….

Just wanting to ask why your side has been misfiring. I had you guys as favorites to win the flag before the season started. You guys has some key players out today so i hoped we might keep it close but it was not the dogs all out dominance like we usually cop at mars or what we saw in the prelim last year.

Get your missing players back and a couple of wins and i still think you guys will turn it around quick smart.

Good luck for the rest of the year

Maybe the $4m or so we have tied up in 5 midfielders can actually recognize that, occasionally, they have to defend a stoppage.

Keays worked us out perfectly. Libba is our only mid who is happy to defend the exit, the others just want the ball and if they don't win it they're chasing tail.

They even did it while Cordy chopped out. I'm sure at lot of people week will point the finger at some fringe kids only just establishing themselves in the AFL system but it's our senior regulars that are the drivers of how we play. At key times today they just didn't assess the situation well.

If you win clearances

Against the worst team in the league whose weakness that make them the worst team in the league is their lack of small defenders that are any good.

If it wasn't for the fact that we already had about seven mid/small forwards injured, he's be battling for his spot in the team.

He has more turnovers than he has effective kicks this year. That includes his accurate kicks for goal counting as an effective kick.
Who are the injured mid/small forwards that replace him, we have very few genuine small forwards we have lots of mids we try and play as small forwards who aren't. He is in his 3rd year from memory and has more upside than most in the team.

There’s a general malaise which is concerning. Time to make some calls for me. I genuinely don’t see another team picking up Schache so why persist. Stop trying to play vfl mids and blindingly hope they will be afl small forwards.

If Sweet was an emergency I assume he is fit. Was he not played because Bev believes he is not up to it and if he is selected we will start losing games? I have some information I should pass on to Bev
We got smashed off the park with one lumbering ruckman who dosent offer anything around the ground.

I dont think we can carry two.

Well that wasn't worth getting up at the crack of dawn to watch.

For anyone who was at the game: Was the continual bombing down the line justified? That is, were we so poor at making space inside, or were Adelaide so good at defending it, that that was the only option we had? I find it difficult to get a read on this sort of thing without being there to see the bigger picture, but from my couch it seemed baffling.

If I were to take one positive out of the game, it would be that (our) O'Brien's marking was looking pretty good---certainly better than last week. Other than that… not an enjoyable game from a spectator's perspective.

Man we miss Josh Bruce
