I wanna see us win more than 1 quarter.

We've won only 10 quarters for the season, to put that in context Collingwood 8th, have won 15, Bulldogs 11, Port only 1 win have won 9, and North bottom of the table have won 8. We basically win a quarter big here and there and do nothing much with the others.

There did seem to be some attempt against Freo to balance things a bit, maybe look at dropping the hammer more in the second half, but we still lost 3 quarters, and just won the 1st.

IMHO, most of the changes will revolve around injuries

Pitto, Harry and whether JSos and Kennedy are fit

Carroll probably the only likely unforced inclusion
I could see us making a spot for Stocker.

I don't remember who but shortly after the game I had a thought that player x would be the perfect swap for Stock. Don't remember who it was now though...

Edit actually it was for Boyd I think. So the sub. Not sure that's ideal but hey-ho.

In this game, prior to O'Brien getting the ball, BT made a comment akin to yours above; that O'Brien was not an elite kick. O'Brien proceeded to not miss a kick for three quarters, including several chizelers inside 50.

If you want to write him off, I can't stop you. But please don't make things up.
No doubt, that was a great three quarters from LOB.

How many quarters like that has he played? Not many, I'd say.

His best is very good. His worst is very bad. Needs to narrow the gap. An do play closer to his best more often.

Players we’ve brought in haven’t impacted those wing contests, either. In the last 2 weeks we barely beat lowly ranked Port and lost to Freo, in both games we’ve been unable to stop the run on.

It’s been a problem in just about every game this year. Think it’s more a systematic issue than any specific wingman - at the moment all wingmen we’ve played this year do okay, but could do more. Problem starts from the opposition backline, our defensive forwards need to be more, well, defensive.

The inclusion of Newnes and Cottrell coincided with our midfield falling off completely; so while the coaches are trying to plug one hole the floodgates opened elsewhere. None of the wingmen we've tried are really acceptable options - O'Brien brings drive and the others bring contest.

Williamson did a forward tagging role once, I'd like to see him back in that position. Agree that the forwardline could use more defensive intent

If McKay doesn't get up then I would be playing Kennedy forward. Silvagni, Curnow, Dekoning is still plenty of height.

This is one North always get up for and that's our own doing by giving them a good sniff every year. They go into most games expecting to lose, hoping to put in a good effort, this is one they go in expecting to win which is on us.

I expect we will blow them away early in a really big way, then what happens who knows.

Lets look at our weaknesses. Speed and intensity around the midfield. Wings. third tall defender. Half forward flanks. Plenty of good young players we could bring in. Will be interesting to see what changes are made.

Not sure they are.

I agree that it's time to give Williamson a sustained run in the side. Is a good utility who wouldn't look out of place plugging a hole across all lines. He's a good kick and will help us retain possession, I rate what he brings and I think he's the type who can become a very solid AFL player with better coaching and more opportunity.

If reports about Pittonet are true - Goldstein will be licking his chops this week versus TDK.

Cripps and the rest of the midfield crew will need to shark a lot of the hit outs.

Hoping North continue to focus on development and play Xerri at number 1 ruck both for my supercoach team and our chances.

no question for mine, vossy said a mouthful when he suggested we will be a far better team toward the end of the season............hang in there you sugary jubes, you carob avoiders, you insignificant others...........

Sounds good but until it happens it's just another motherhood statement.

Sorry I'm just gonna park my euphoria until I see it, hasn't happened too often in the last 10 years.

That is exactly how we are playing as an entire club, though.

I'd rather Walsh with time and space than running away from a stoppage and hooking the ball back over his shoulder to an at best 50/50 situation.

He will spot up targets and make good decisions, even after running a long way, when he has time to do so.

It feels like we are playing him where he wants to play, rather than where the team needs him to play. Maybe the contract situation is in the back of the mind?

This is what has happened at Carlton for way too long tail wagging the dog type stuff.

I don't care if they make Cripps play back pocket as long it's what is best for the team and we are winning games/finals/flags.

In my opinion our improvement and flag potential will reach its peak in 2 years once Voss has found his formula of player/game plan and who actually wants to do the hard work on/off the field and play in positions that will benefit the team not just for their AFL status.

Once Voss makes it all finally click Carlton will be the team everyone is trying to beat again like it was back in our hey day when finals certainty was almost guaranteed and flags came along every few years.

I CAN"T WAIT !!

Mirkov is definitely in need of a full season of development in the 2s, but he has been doing some nice things. Any chance they play him at all?
