No-but I thought he would never get close to AFL level again
It's probably an indictment on the Club and our player stocks but on evidence presented yesterday he's not a million miles away
Thought the same thing when I saw him a few weeks ago. Injuries haven't ruined him. He looks like the same player he was, which is great. Still looks like he's going to kick a beach ball with that ball drop unfortunately, but he at least doesn't try impossible kicks.

I'm not sure what the selectors were hoping for with DMac but I'm absolutely sure Charlie Constable does it better;)

On a more positive note I watched the VFL game replay and was surprised at Rory T's closing speed
Was always his super power and I presumed it would be lost following the knee surgery
Ok-it's VFL, it's Werribee but was encouraging
I'm starting to think a half fit, half arsed Rory is better than mostly everyone trying for the tall defender spot
At least he's a smart footballer
I'm just quoting this for posterity that Sandy said something nice about Rory ;)

Davies, Macpherson and Rankine out.
Sadly something isn’t working for Rankine, give him until the bye in the twos playing full midfield minutes. At the very least might improve his tank and confidence.

Flanders, Sharp and I wouldn’t mind seeing Constable come in

I would give Rankine one more week.

The SCG should be conducive to our game style.

However, this is it for him, needs to perform and kick a couple of goals.

Out: Davies, MacPherson
In: Sharp, Constable
They showed Constable VFL highlights on the Suns App, which I think is unusual. Sneaky chance of playing?

Anyway, I’d try Constable over Davies for sure. Personally, I’d get Swallow out of the backline and in Davies’ spot though and bring in a defender… though whether any of our defenders can actually “defend” is becoming questionable.

We missed Sharp’s (or Atkin’s) run too.

Don't think atkins provides run but does provide foot skills which we are also lacking. Sounds like Powell is a chance to be back this week which is surprising. Agree swallow back to inside mid and maybe with the small oval rotate constable in there too. Could allow Anderson to spend some more minutes on the wing.

Just on this, last time Rankine played at the SCG he kicked four goals.

Dew has to make it very clear to Izak that if he doesn't perform this week then it's back to VFL. No excuses.

The Suns have some tricky decisions to make ahead of playing Sydney on Saturday. One easy one would be the inclusion of Wil Powell (hamstring) if he gets through main training after missing the loss against Collingwood. Rory Atkins did well in the VFL, as did Charlie Constable. Jeremy Sharp, who was the medical substitute against the Magpies, would offer a bit of outside speed and good ball use going inside 50, while Joel Jeffrey kicked three goals in the VFL and could be another forward target.

R7 medical substitute: Jeremy Sharp (replaced Connor Budarick)

Verdict: Powell for Alex Davies and Sharp into the 22 for Darcy Macpherson. - Michael Whiting

Has there been any indication of luko going back to wing / HBF?
He seemed to play more up the ground last week and in the last quarter his heat map was HBF... such a waste having him as a key fwd.. with such an elite field kick

Buderick out. Semi injured and has been responsible for quite a few goals the last 2 weeks.
Macpherson out.
Davies out.

Sharp in.
Powell in.
Jeffrey in.

Lemmens Collins Farrar
Powell Ballard Weller
Ellis Miller Lukosius
Rankine Chol Ainsworth
Holman Casboult Rosas

Witts Anderson Swallow

Fiorini Rowell Sharp Jeffrey
med sub) Flanders

Noah slams the ball onto his boot at stoppages so i understand him being low but Fiorini gets alot of his ball in a free space and he is still shit house at using it. Seriously need to move past him in the team, he doesn't offer anything.

Play him in the mid later in the season, let him get his 30+ and 4 tackles a game to drive his value up.

And have him turning the ball over every 2nd disposal? I like the idea behind it but we need all the good performances we can get to keep our young kids, and he isn't helping.

By then our season will most likely be shot. What are his numbers going back previous years in a traditional mid role. Some players make better of it when they don't have the time to think about it and mess it up. Not saying Fiorini would be that player but would be interesting to compare

His numbers are mid 20 disposals, but he is a low contested ball and clearance winner. And not a great kick of the football, i just don't understand where he fits into a team, he isn't quick, he doesn't win contested ball, he doesn't use it well, he isn't great on the outside. Like what do you do with him?
