Because there is none

Are Brisbane really drafting him if hes such a disaster off field

Are they really keeping him on all these years just to play VFL being terrible off field. Is he really performing in the 2nds like he is if hes not with it? All reasonable questions to ask

Im yet to see anything reported, thats all im saying

Loose unit? Its a term that can vary so much. As long as he gives his all on field and its not affecting his performance than who cares. Libba is considered a 'loose unit' by many but god id love someone of his character in the side right now

We want to be something we dont draft for

Mattho beats any of our mids in the clinches in PS. All we can comment on is what we said on field as thats all we know and see. Passion, ruthless, wont back down, killer instinct, super competitor, compliments what we have and im sure hed love an opportunity to play. At worse he increases our competitivness at training

When given the opportunity hes been pretty good at the top level
I agree bad personality types don’t last this long if they’re a fringe player. If he was such a bad person to have a round the club he would’ve been moved on long ago.

The podcast literally says they were lippy on field together and made Weitering cry

Are people serious on here

Even more reason to get him in
Do you really think everyone in this thread has a poor opinion of Mathieson by osmosis?

Take a clue and google it, and then let the whole stupid idea go.

Putting aside my thoughts on Mathieson, not wanting him because we could do much better.

Osmosis is almost the perfect description of how this paranoia about Mathieson and Parish being together again has spread through the forum.

It will have been 7 years by the end of the season. Mathieson, despite supposedly being Hilter reincarnated has lasted 7 years at the Lions, most of that time under Fagan, who doesn't come across as suffering fools, including a 4 year period of top 4 finishes and having a very deep list of midfielders.

I'd say he has grown up or become very good at supressing his evil instincts.

Godwin’s Law.

not sure he's the midfield answer, but is he a defensive HFF option?
1-goes in hard, tackles hard, runs hard
2-has the go in low, lift the arm technique in his bag of tricks
3-kicking less an issue if his game is to run, chase, tackle and hack the ball forward if not winning a free.

Low down the list of preferences, but not a complete dismissal in my book

In any case, our draw is opening up from here and we're getting Snelling, Stringer and Langford back over the next couple of games so we might not have pick 3. I can see us getting another 5 or 6 wins from here with games against West Coast, North, GWS, Port, Collingwood and Richmond left this year. Hell, I give us a chance
Adelaide have a decent run home. I reckon it comes down to us against the giants for pick 3 & 4 in round 21.

I can see us passing both Adelaide and Hawthorne honestly.

Is Sam Weideman worth having a look at??
what would he cost…melb’s would probably want pick 21? Same draft as Francis and played about the same amount of games.

Probably gets the rest of the year with McDonald's injury

Is James Worpel any good or has he gone backwards?

My issue is not necessarily rating him as a player or not or that would help us, its not wanting him based on this zero reported Parish/Mattho issue that somehow started on here ages ago

I can only ask for evidence, it was provided. It didnt back up anything

Anyway we move on

Yeah, I don't get the Mathieson hate to be honest, especially from a culture perspective

A few points from the below article.

  • Ran waters for the reserves
  • Hosts team dinners
  • Bought his parents a house up in brisbane

Doesn't strike me as a loose unit/culture problem child to me. Fair enough that he's not an elite mid, but if we had a few harder nosed players with a desire to build culture and be a team player maybe we wouldn't be such a shambles.

Also to add to this, I don't think Fagan is the type of coach to keep him around as long as he has if he was a culture problem, not saying we should go for him by the way.

Is James Worpel any good or has he gone backwards?

Doesn't work in the same team as Tom Mitchell. Wouldn't work in the same team as Darcy Parish.

He's an accumulator that isn't overly damaging, but worse at it than Mitchell or Parish.

Not really someone that would complement the midfield setup we have. We either need a Hewett type, or a Dangerfield / Dusty / Petracca type to pick-up the role Stringer does cameos in.
