Stringer liked playing us last time, and they'll probably chuck him in the middle for lengthy stints.... that's my biggest concern.

Otherwise, on paper, we have them covered in most areas!
He'll likely fire up for about 10 minutes across the game. Dude's underdone injury interrupted pre-season & season so far... can play in the middle all night if he wants unfortunately for him our inside midfield is bigger and badder than anything he's played against so far this year. I wish him all the luck in the world, cos he's certainly going to need it.

Is this not the most uninspiring pump up speech you have ever heard?

Embarassing quite frankly. What are their social media team even thinking posting this?

We are going to absolutely smash them tonight

Wow that was... Something.

Whole team probably fell asleep.

How is that supposed to inspire anything other than a 100 point loss. I wonder how many of them fall asleep during team meetings listening to him. No wonder they are where they are...with that #brave inspiration. He speaks like Matthew Lloyd sounds like he's crapping himself to speak publicly

Seriously kids,
There is no amount of points too high for us to smash them by.
50? Pft.
75..meh.
100...ok
125?...good.
150? Yep. Now you are talking.
5 points and under?
I'll take it but honestly...
How good would a drubbing be?
A total all in humiliation...
Eh?
I'd like to see that.

..

TBF, who needs to be inspired a day before the game or even 8 hours before the game. What are you then meant to do, walk around pumped up for the next 24 hrs.....

I never understood why a player would get more inspired by some of the shit said in meetings. i used to hate it as a player, just words, means nothing. Something said a couple of minutes before you run out might get you going, and it wears off by the time you do the warm up anyway.

Now I understand why Essendon have been playing so soft - this is equivalent to giving each player a cup of warm milk and a blanket during the warm-up, and playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as the pump-up music.

I can handle losing to the filth just. Mainly because they have some good youngsters running around and don't need the media pumping them up every pre-season. But * (drug cheats, scum, essendope) nup. Just spank em blues, Charlie to kick 5+ Midfield to have a night out.
The filth are still carried by multiple 200+ game champions
They were up for the fight more, played smarter, and yet still almost handed us the game
We ain't losing tonight. Essendon are fielding an extremely inexperienced team and we are fielding a much stronger team than 2 weeks ago
Just need to break their spirit and not give them a sniff. Hawthorn game showed they're able to get on a roll if you allow them to

I am not that worried about Harry who is coming back a week earlier than initially thought however Marchbank has been injured and out for over 2 seasons and he has had three quarters of a VFL game and about a half the following week. Seems a little light on and i would have thought he would need to get through a VFL game prior to a call up in the firsts. Just hoping he is able to play out the game tomorrow.
Doch came back from chemo in off season and has been great from the get go, I’m trusting AR and Vossy on this one

* have 7 - and the thread currently sits 9th on their page - at least some over there seem realistic:

Carlton will win and win comfortably.
They will win because their midfield is bigger and better balanced than ours.
It will be depressing; not as depressing as the poor souls who have shelled out $595 $495 $395 $295 to go to the "event" tomorrow.
I think I'll be cruising into the front bar of the pub across the road before half time.

Lachie Henderson for a future 1st rounder.

Tom Bell for Pick 21 and a swap of later picks.

Menzel for 28 and Kerridge.

28 and Geelong future 1st rounder for Pick 8 and Plowman (and others).

20 and 21 for 11 and Dogs future 3rd.

Yarran for 19.

Gibbs, future 2nd for 10, 16 and future 3rd.

16 and 40 for 28, 30 and Dogs future 2nd.

28 for Kennedy.

Future 4th rounder for Newman.

Future 1st rounder for 19 and Crows future 1st rounder.

11 and 62 for 17 and 22.

These were all good trades IMO.

Some ppl forget that the only reason we even had the draft picks to draft Mckay and Charlie was thanks to creative trading by SOS. Cunners as well. And TDK.

He did a great job early also getting Plowman, Marchbank, Kennedy and Setterfield for pretty good prices. Martin for nothing.
