We’ve seen a lot of substandard playing lists over the last 30 odd years in the AFL, but very rarely have we seen coaches loses the trust and respect of their playing groups.

The results that we’re seeing point to the latter, as the only equivalents to our ineptitude are situations such as Mark Neeld in Melbourne or Bernie Quinlan in Fitzroy. No coach in the history of the AFL has ever rebounded from a stretch as poor as the one that David Noble is currently in.

We are the least effective tackling team in the AFL period.

We could be a 5 goal better team next week, if we just spent the week practicing taking the arm in the tackle.

Almost every tackle the opponent handballs the ball to a teammate and we don't disrupt their ball movement.

Such a simple change with a huge potential benefit.

I still don't trust the umpires to call a fair game even if that were the case.

I'm sick of this assessment of games where we get belted early and are down by 5-6 goals, and then we only lose by 8-10 and the assessment is 'thought we battled well after quarter time'

They had the game wrapped up at 1/4 time, of course they were always going to coast after that. Teams know we aren't capable of a comeback.

I was at the game and apart from one mark and a couple tackles he was given a bath and provided nothing to us on the offensive end.

I think he’s been a warrior over the years fighting outside his weight and talent class. He’s got the best out of himself and he should be commended on playing 100 games and jagging 50+ goals at the highest level. But at the moment he is just a massive non factor

I'm not denying that the club's on field performance is dire or not linked to its coaching. But we need to consider quite recent examples where other clubs were in a similar mess and pulled themselves back. Consider Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton, Collingwood who all experienced long periods over several years where they couldn't win a raffle. We know where the rot is in our instance. Our Board needs to make some tough decisions and aggressively target the coach that we always wanted in the first instance. If we can land that big fish and he can can turn the clubs performance, he'd become a club and probably an AFL legend.

Getting my grandpa home safe just now is the one positive for me today. Silly goose walked right onto the tram tracks without looking and was about a second away from being flattened. Divine intervention that I looked up in time to pull him back. Not your time yet old man, we’ve still got Number 5 to see.

Only real positive was the crowd - I thought 13k was impressive given our ladder position, general crowd size and the cold weather.

There was a lot of noise being made too, when we finally started scoring.

Amarfio and Hood were on level 1 at 3 quarter time, talking with fans. I thought that was cool.

I can understand people feel that way, but Ziebull doesn't chase because he is lazy or doesn't want to, he just hasn't got the tank so all you would achieve is to embarrass the captain. The question is, why retain players who can't play the modern game and that is a club issue. We hid his lack of tank by playing him down back and he did an okay job last year.

I made a post somewhere else showing the last two years of B&Fs and the vast majority of them are injured, no longer with us or being played out of the position they won the B&F and it impacted their form afterwards. To some degree, some of this pain has been self-inflicted with moving players around.

NMFC + GWS: 47,843 + 30,500 (couldn't find an accurate figure, their website sucks): Game Attendance: 13,635 (roughly, official attendance not on the website yet).

17.4% of members for NMFC/GWS
