LDU unbelievably good, sadly only had 2-3 mates that matched his effort. Scottroo with the great call in the game day thread labelling him a C Grader. 🤡

I’m on the kids side, but they need to sit down with JHF and his management during the bye and start clearing this shit up. His body language the last 2 weeks has been completely awful, watching his efforts off the ball today was super disappointing, not good enough Jase.

Effort as a whole was a disgrace again. Enough is enough. I’ll say it again, tear up the game plan and start again or move Noble on. We played 15th today and we were uncompetitive again. Enough.

One good half doesn’t make him a star. His consistency is poor

Before the game I went to the stall on level 2 to buy a JHF badge, the one outside of the entrance with the ticket scanner people

I say “can I please have a Jason Horne-Francis badge”

The lady looks through her badge thingy and asks “what’s his last name again haha”

I say “hahaha Horne-Francis”

😭😭😭😭😭😭

Turner played well? Noble should be sacked immediately just for thinking that.

All coaches have their favourites who aren’t particularly good and seem to get a free ride, but Turner and Greenwood are both senior leaders who have been poor all year. You’d like to see an example made of them - if it’s good enough to publicly pants a young guy like Thomas then it’s good enough to at least question the spot of Turner and Greenwood. Instead, our coach is lying through his teeth saying they’re playing well.

I wish I was wrong, but I don't think we can continue with Simpkin as the extractor, he just can't go physically with the opposition, he cracks in and I respect him for that, but he gets pushed around too easily, can't effectively tackle the opposition and his ball use is no good. He has talent and he can get a lot of the ball at times, but if you were trying to manufacture a premiership midfield, he wouldn't be in the starting group. Can we manufacture a different role for him or is he eventually going to be pushed out and bust?

He only managed 10 contested possessions today, so 2/3rds of his possessions were uncontested and he went 47.1% by foot, 0 score launches, 1 score involvement. Managed 4 clearances, 1 centre, 4 tackles, 51.6% DE so he wasn't a lot better by hand and had 359m gained.

LDU had 2 more disposals, but is a more of a utility midfielder. LDU had 16 contested possessions, went 76.5% by foot, 1 score launch, 8 score involvements. Had 6 clearances, 1 centre, 3 tackles, 87.9% DE and 574m gained.

I think the best hope atm is for Phillips to be that kind of inside mid to replace Cunnington. LDU is the superior follower, JHF will be the one in the centre and Thomas/Powell are out best options for wing. So where does Simpkin fit in? Bench? The reality is, even if Phillips doesn't make it, we would need to find a proper extractor to replace him, Jy isn't the answer.

We had 60 hitouts vs 13, 34 clearances vs 32, 114 contested possessions vs 103 and we got arse r*ped. We just can't hold on to the ball and hit consecutive targets.

Greenwood only 8 disposals, we need more than an octopus in the middle.

Taking out the game he was concussed in the first quarter, his possession tallies this year have been:

27
20
22
23
16
23
25
27
17
25
33 today

And last year he averaged 22 a game, with his worst being 17.

He's actually developing into a very consistent and solid midfielder. The sort you can build a side around.

It is what it is, reality is until we drop some more dead weight and have another offseason we won't see anything different. If we're lucky we'll get a glimpse at Comben and Phillips again and Cunners if we're really lucky. LDU, gee whiz, physically is looking very good and getting far cleaner with his ball use, loved his game.

Onto the bye, surely can't lose this one can we?

Game was lost before we set foot on the field.

Most of them were lost prior to the season starting.

But yes this was lost before the bounce and got worse from there.

I’d do pretty bad things to be able to run a spine for 4 weeks in a row.

We have massive structural concerns and our game plan is messy and guards grass like we are some sort of security sheep who have no cohesion at all.

Disappointing result not sure how changing the coach now will change anything other than set us up as a legitimate candidate for Tasmania. If calling for the coaches head makes you feel better then go for it, I’m calling for basic skill improvements, kicking, hand ball ing to our own players would be a great start, straight kicking when set shot on goal another, not sure that’s nobles fault.
Noble just set up a team that let Himmelberg have 37 touches.

Enough said….. we have a dud.

Keeping him on achieves nothing other than for us to fall further down the black hole.

He's gone. At least a week there. High + intentional + medium impact.

How is the impact medium? You would need to get concussion for it to be above light, no? McKay was finished with concussion with a similar hit and his opponent got nothing. I think we should be asking for consistency.

Because the strike felled Kelly and he was holding his jaw?

It's clear his sole intention was to whack Kelly in the face, he had no intent for the ball, and he was late.

Who knows what will happen, but I don't think the AFL will like it.

Noble is part of the problem with the way we are playing, but he isn't at fault for players inability to hit team mates. If we just stopped turning the ball over and make basic errors which cost goals, we would lost games like this by 2-3 goals. We just let them hit targets like we were cones. 149 marks, 5 contested. Hawks benchmark was 100 marks a game, 120 and it was a slaughter and GWS probably have a better kicking team than hawks ever had.

These are the same problems we had with Brad, same with Shaw, same with Noble, how many coaches you want to blame for players not executing? Those other two coaches with the exact same list had great games against good opposition as well, so it wasn't an inability to do it. Not asking for the impossible, just do the basics.
