✅ Lost to North
✅ Lost to the Suns
✅ Drew with Freo

Wouldn't say that's convincing form. Maybe I'm under rating Richmond, but they look anything but a flag threat and even at the G I don't see them beating us with our best 22 in. Even without Rich, Coleman back will more than cover him.
They all interstate games :) Tigers do not play well at Marvel
Also all three they lost from pure Richmondness

As others said I just tag Bolton. We need to start tagging more.
Put Starc on him following him forward, mid even follow him to the toilets.

outs Rich and Robbo
ins Kiddy and Prior.

Love to get Lohmann in for one of our talls not going to happen. 3 talls, Rayner and Charlie all leading to the same spot often does not work.
Need some more speed.

Also top 8 interesting
Cats and Pies won last 5, Swans 4/5
Everyone else shakey 3/5 or freo 2w 1d 3 losses
Even outside the 8 not really a team on make a late charge for 8th.
Everyone hot and cold.
Saints 2/5 Tigers 1win 1 draw and 3 losses
Port 2/5 Suns 1/5
Hawks and Bombers in 13th and 14th out of it although 3/5

So maybe our scrappy form is just how the comp is now where apart from North or Eagles.
Anyone maybe win on the day

We seem a little paranoid about this match . Hope it doesn't spill over to the players.

I can sort of see why but if we can't beat them this week then the pressure's off as far as seriously contending this year and everyone can relax. And we can enjoy some wins after that.

I'd be doing whatever's doable to get Lohmann in the team. We could do with a surprise sparky.

I feel for Cam. He and Linc had very similar games, yet a lot more pressure is on Cam because of our expectations on him.

He only got 5 centre bounce starts which isn't all that much. He spent a lot of time up forward which hurts too.

Speaking of CBA’s, it felt to me watching the game at the Gabba, haven’t watched the replay yet but it appear to be a abnormally high rotation type of game for the mids.
Mixing it up with a different look almost every time.
Might be wrong but that is how it appeared. Might have solidified and been a bit less rotation in the last quarter which might have been because Berry was sent to Touk?
Lachie seemed to be the only constant in the centre.

In hindsight maybe the best thing might have been to drop Cam back to the ressies, when his form was ordinary way back in 2019. I don't think the club was prepared to deal with the media fall out from dropping a #1 draft pick, but I think it should have occurred. He is coming back from an ACL so not ruling Cam out from being a good consistent player, but equally we might have to concede that he will be an average to good players with some moments of brilliance thrown in.

IMO not a full time mid, and arguably would not like playing as a back flanker, seems the challenging small/mid forward role with moments spent in the midfield is his best position for the foreseeable future. However, if we went two tall forwards, Cam could play deep third forward.

Need to win at the G. Forget the Tigers, we've broken that hoodoo and they're not worth any extra attention. Just win at the MCG, please.

Reserves - Who is in Form?
Last round.

Devin Robertson was best-on-ground for the Lions as he continues to push his case for a spot in Chris Fagan's side. The 21-year-old showcased his physicality with seven tackles, five clearances, five inside 50s and a goal from his 25 disposals.”

That’s two weeks in a row from Robertson, having been equal BOG the week before.

Ryan Lester continued to show his class with 19 disposals, eight marks and six tackles.”

Lester continues his run of great form.

Carter Michael & Tommy Berry in trouble with serious injuries. Looking like season ending but still waiting for scans/outcomes.:'(

I dont get it with wanting to change up our forward line.
After the weekends game, we (The Lions) have scored more than any other side in the competition. (1798 pts) The next closest is Geelong. (1692 pts) That's 106 more than any other side yet our forward line isn't potent enough as it is now?
Our points conceded on the other hand is not so complementary and neither is our center clearances out in the middle yet guys like yourself want to change the one set up thats performing while others struggle.
I know total points don't tell the whole story but they do tell you we have a potent forward line set up which does tell us we aren't in need of change there where other areas could probably do with a tweak.

Please explain a little why you often comment about making a change with our current forward set-up when its kicking winning scores most games.

Honestly if Linc did not play up more as a extra mid during the last I say the same about him.
He also ended up with 2 goals for the game vs Rayner zero
I am a big McCarthy fan although saw 3-4 missed tackles on the weekend as well
Lots of our players do not stick tackles you see it weekly

McCarthy is one of our better tacklers in my opinion.
Maybe he missed some on the weekend but I would back him in on most situations in a defensive contest.

The problem with finals approaching is more about set ups and structures around all ground defence and centre bounce performance than personnel...except for some hard defensive run, which would be handy, although with the players in there now I just don't think they have the genetics to give anymore than they are currently giving.

Various players in our forward line been up and down most of the year. We kick a lot of goals from Mids or Mid/Forwards.
We might be kicking winning scores although we been leaking a lot from our forward 50.
Is that because of bad kicks in or too tall or what?
It is not one player we have down players each week it rotates.
I think the fact the ball moves out of our back 50 with ease at times is worry.
I am not calling for Hippy or McStay or Joe out as others.
Think we get lots of inside 50's that bounce down the other end.

yes agree normally good although missed a few.
Although as a team we have a lot of guys break tackles.
no idea if there is a stat somewhere for that.

Take your point on that but, Its not about the player who kicks the goal. It's about our team kicking a winning score. Who kicks the goals is irrelevant as long as they get kicked.
As for defensive parts of our forwards game..... in the review, Charlie & Hippy were acknowledged for their efforts which might surprise a few on here.

Hell, even Joe was chasing manically.

not me and Joe was more on then most weeks
We often give away a kick in to 30-40 out on a flank.
Where from our back 50 teams push us to kick to wing or pocket.
Not sure our zone or lack of players defensively on

Fagan: Ready to Prove the Doubters Wrong

Don’t forget, we have reset our goals. Pay attention all “doubters” Fagan and the team are about to dispel all doubt. There will be no doomsaying after this round proves we can beat an out of form opponent on the MCG. We are third on the ladder and we are about to play the the tenth placed team. Also, we almost have a full list to choose our team from. What could possibly go wrong?
I'm doubting this.

That’s terrible news. I hope they are ok.

Shouldn’t surprise too many, Charlie’s pressure and defensive work has been up for a few weeks now and he looks dangerous in attack as always. Hippy is pretty clearly the best of the 3 talls when it comes to gut running defensively and playing a team oriented game imo.
