North played for the new coach?

Port were some sniff unlikely but a sniff of a chance but today finished that off

Tiggers will bury Essendope if they are playing for a spot in the finals and essendope are rubbish
Right.. the team that has barely won lately and looked like absolute rubbish will win their last 4.. haha, ok buddy

If they get through tomorrow they will start favourites in at least 2 of the last 3

I didn’t expect to win last night but always expected to need to win the last 3 to get in. Nothing changes.

Thought it was a 40/60 game BUT what is concerning is the third qtr and what happened not for the first time.

We won’t win all of our next 3 with the confusion it reigns with selection and in ability to react when heat comes

Because Freo have looked brilliant lately? They were awesome on Friday night

We can beat them yes but they are much more organised than we are and I think that will be enough.

For one tag Brayshaw and that will help but not sure will happen.

We're still a chance to limp in but once there the look has to be different and they have to dine out on a steady diet of cement and nails in the lead up and during.

Maybe Brucey just can't get ready this year. Maybe Mclean too but haven't seen enough of him to judge. Let's say he (McLean) does though and let's say Keath recovers some fitness and form and can get back in.

We still need a different look and some more speed and aerial presence in the back half. I want to put Naughts back because he'll get to and influence more contests than Keath. Keep tinkering to find what looks tougher and more competitive. Perhaps Keath can go forward in place of Bruce, English replaces Naughts at CHF and Martin replaces English in the ruck.

FB: Duryea Naughts Khamis

HB: Dale Gardner Richards

C: Williams Bont Macrae

HF: Treloar English Smith

FF: Weightman Keath JUH

R: Martin Libba Dunkley

INT: Garcia West JJ McLean (or Daniel/Cleary if McLean not fit)

SUB: McSteal

or this might be toughest team we can put out there whilst still keeping some creativity. Cordy gets a reprieve as a defensive fwd who'll use his knees at every opportunity. I like our back 6 in this scenario.

Sadly, my answer to the thread question is: I don't care. Unlike 2016, there is insufficient energy and determination in this team to make any meaningful statement if we snuck into the 8. Therefore, let's start changing a few things up now and see what it looks like, both in terms of selection and game plan. I think we all want to see change asap.

We had the same doubts in 2016. Our form wasn’t great and we had injury concerns. It clicked. If we make it this year it will be in the back of 3 wins. A weeks break, a chance to regroup and who knows. We’ve gone further than any other team from the bottom half of the 8.

Looks like we are a much better team at Marvel. We should win both Freo and GWS both at Marvel not sure about Hawks in Tassie. We will need all 3 wins to make it. We will will probably lose our first final if we do so as someone said does not seem much care factor. However it would be nice to get to a final at MCG we have played all our finals interstate since 2016.

Our midfield is better, especially at home. The current odds are there for a reason

I think you're massively over rating our midfield. Sean Darcy is one of the best rucks in the comp and will absolutely dominate us. Taberner and Lobb will feast on their centre bounce dominance. It'll be the same script we have seen all year and starting at the end of last season, in which our midfield gets dominated but the nuffies blame our defence.

Haha Taberner .. might even get dropped

Other than last year where we faltered towards the end, it’s a constant theme of Bevo’s teams that they take way too long to get going. 2019 & 2020 saw us with strong late season form to sneak into the finals as well. It’s quite frustrating.
It’s more so that beveridge takes too long to cut the crap and stop his experimenting

View attachment 1461220. Maybe our highly decorated midfield coach Marcus Webb might throw in sone changes to our midfield next week :)

Our midfield isn’t as good as people make out it is.

They aren’t defensive enough either in their set up at stoppages or their work rate.

Also it shouldn’t matter who the midfield coach is, our midfield group is at a stage in the career where they should be able to fix things in game themselves.

Our midfield has a lot of downhill skiers about them
