I'm not going to listen to the interview because the sound of his voice makes me want to break things, but did our chairman address the absolute absurdity of collingwood being the deciders of this issue? Did he challenge his afl masters to make the decision themselves, and treat us equally with every other club in the comp? Or is a bit too gutless for that?

Yeah if you suffer from high blood pressure don't listen. He basically admitted Collingwood essentially tell us what to do with our history. He said we have been played because we were "too nice" on this issue.

Pretty well sums up the way they have dealt with an underperformed 10 year coach too.

These people are slowly but surely eroding the fabric of our club

Port need to reference the EPL and their strips and suggest the AFL need to learn a thing or two.

Your point is valid, though the AFL seems to model itself on American "closed shop" franchise leagues. Take the NFL example, yep, no duplication of colours or "infringed trademarks" there....

The sooner it goes to court the better.
Yeah so what if we just wear it - Collingwood takes us to court? so what, let it go to court, every member might chip on 20 bucks, there's 1.2 million for a good cause.

We didn't get into the AFL by being nice. Keeping Ken and this limp attitude sums up the place at the min.

I don't suppose that'll eventuate, but if it did...

Port counsel to AFL: So you're happy to leave this to the two clubs to resolve?

AFL: Yes

Port Counsel: So if there were an agreement you would have no objection to the Prison Bar jumper being worn?

AFL: No

Port Counsel: So it's not about the jumper, which happens to use the same two colours, but a manifestly different design?

AFL: Well, it does have horizontal stripes...

Port Counsel: As do Hawthorn and North Melbourne

AFL: Different colours though

Port Counsel: Carlton and Geelong have the same colours but a different design...

AFL: Exactly

Port Counsel: Exactly. No further questions Your Honour.

As I've always said, the battle to wear them is where the power is.

I'm ok with it being knocked on the head again.
What absolutely must not happen now is the club just giving up.
It needs to ramp up.

Keeping Ken, playing nice with the bars issue (expecting respect) - it's all a load of crap. The AFL and Collingwood just play cat and mouse with us.

Seeing as the AFL aren't interested in dealing with it (but hold the IP) then just wear it, let Collingwood take us to court, I bet the AFL would suddenly be interested.

The sooner it goes to court the better.
There is nothing to go to court over.

Unless we wear it and the AFL take us to court.

The AFL own everything.
