Toast #BringBackTheBars - Our Heritage, Our History, Our Right! Part 2

Our board is in control of our club but OUR BOARD IS NOT OUR CLUB.

Consider the depth of the insult involved in our board using bbtb to distract from... you know who.

This thread should be shut down until these effing distinctions and conflicts of interest trigger a proper revolution against le régime des médiocrités and effing heads roll. Waste of time until then.

That’s not what’s happening except in some peoples heads.

BBTB comes up whenever we play Collingwood and this one’s timing is close to when the decision was made for the Showdown.

If they were capable of organising this type of distraction we would have won a premiership by now!

I see it as encouraging that he's mentioned it as an idea that's gone through his head before.

The other thing is with the idea of just wearing it, there wouldn't be an announcement, we'd only find out the moment it actually happened.

Just imagine the crowd response man. You'd cop the penalty for that alone.
The playing group would be livid. It's an automatic 12th placed finish before the ball is bounced, rather than giving the players the chance to fall short to finish 12th.

Kochie on AA this morning was far better on the bars.

Called Collingwood "petty"

Called out Southport wearing the black and white

Called out all the other retro jumpers

Said we have been played for being nice (surprise, surprise).

Too little too late, and no doubt designed to distract us from Ken but it's a start.

I posted this in the censorship thread, but it works here:

When will those running the club learn?

A club in a small market, with fewer resources can ONLY BE SUCCESSFUL by being unrelenting and uncompromising!

The very moment a 'smaller' club starts compromising to their league 'overlords' is the moment they become a pinata for the rest of the competition!

Port have never been the richest club, in the AFL we won't be the biggest club, but absolutely NOTHING stops us from being the most successful apart from our attitude as to how to achieve that success and we are failing MISERABLY in that!

Accepting this mediocrity in relation to the pb's and Hinkley and not swinging punches all over the shop guarantees a loss!

At least if we are throwing haymakers we have a chance for a knockout, this turtling up may allow us to go the distance, but we will ALWAYS lose!

A good start. I'll be impressed if he follows this up by having the team wear them in the Showdown.

Looks like this is a losing battle. More teal is going to appear now. Away jumper in AFLW is teal. Home AFLW jumper has some random teal line on the port panel. Teal collars. And apparently next season the mens away jumper will be teal.

Jerker Jenkins also has a gig on one of the Vic horseracing channels, for unknown reasons some retired footballers are continually kissed on the appendage when it comes to extra income streams.
He put in lots of work as a player to help out the media with interviews and guest appearances and whatnot. That would’ve given him quite a few contacts. That’s why he’s got these gigs now, its actually very deserved.

Kochie addressed a claim made by the Collingwood CEO that he advised in March he was going to deny Port’s jumper request.

“That is the greatest load of rot I’ve ever heard,” Kochie told David & Will.
“He absolutely did not. In fact two weeks ago the Collingwood president Jeff Browne rang me out of the blue and said, Kochie mate, we’re taking your request really seriously, we understand how important it is to your members… I’ve been canvassing opinions in Melbourne and SA and I’m putting it to my board [last week] and I don’t want to get your hopes up but I’m quietly confident we could have good news for you. That was just two weeks ago…
“I’m fuming because we have done the right thing, just quietly gone about it, and I can’t help feel that good nature has been played.”

"Fuming" David Koch Goes Off Over Prison Bars Plan - FiveAA

Didnt we explicitly say we didnt agree to a once off agreement
Yes. They are acting in bad faith again by blatantly lying and hoping the general public run with it.
