The Sydney trip as I understand it was to talk to players and possible assistant coaches - however I have no info on that except also look up the name Simon Dalrymple. As for the GWS meeting even Barrett is doubting why he met them which my mail says was to confirm - NO.
Hope you are right but if it was to say no you would think it would have leaked by now.

What if, after all the leaks about deals being done, Brad Scott effectively telling everyone we had Gaff at the Syd Barker, this is a test Clarkson has set the club as the biggest test of loyalty you could imagine? Is Clarko saying, keep this in house and show me we are all north bound passengers and I’ll commit, if rubbish leaks get out, I’m out? Just maybe, this is the operation of a Board that can get things done without the hoo ha. Time will tell. But whatever happens, the fact this negotiation has been done with a semblance of class and professionalism gives me some hope we are trending the right way.

I’m only telling you what I get told - I’ve had private messages today saying he was at the game. The wheels are definitely in motion behind the scenes as things get sorted so that it can be announced. As I keep saying - patience.

You don’t realize how close that is to being 100% correct.

Every man and his dog knows but somehow the media don’t. Remarkable if that’s the case.
The club have deliberately gone down this path - that’s why Barrett was fed info by Sonja Hood. After McGuire broke Clarkos managers news she wanted to retain control of the narrative - only info she and the board wanted out would be given to Barrett. They don’t want and haven’t had the anti Clarkson to North group getting anything. The fact people like Caro , Sam McClure and that flog Cornes and the rest of the media pack are so quiet is they don’t have anything by design.

The noise about Alastair Clarkson favouring North Melbourne over the Giants grows by the day, or at least people apparently in the know say Clarkson is privately talking more about the Kangaroos than he is the Giants. If that’s the case, Nick Larkey would likely further sway Clarkson towards the Roos. In Larkey, he has a key forward that is surging towards being an A grader. He kicked seven goals against the tightwads at Sydney, five coming on Tom McCartin, which would be the gun defenders worst match-up of the season, and two goals on Dane Rampe. What a difference it must be for Larkey to have the ball coming inside 50m quick and long and often, which hasn’t always been the case in recent years. The Roos have several potential A graders and they might need a Clarkson to take them to that next level. At the same time, Clarkson might be thinking he has plenty to work with here. Watch this space.

He’d already told them no - this was a cursory confirmation after the Giants initiated the meeting - he didn’t go to meet them they asked him. As he was doing other things he’s made sure he’s at least paid them lip service. That’s why the hysteria about that meeting was way overplayed - and notice how the press have now dropped right off that.

Robbo, if I watched this space any more intently my eyes would actually fall out of my head.
