Bye bye Clarkson

Do you have hard evidence about “most of our list” or are you just going on your feels?

Your point is made based on sweeping generalisations without knowing what’s actually going on with the playing group and coaching so your point can be safely dismissed.

I don't have any evidence but I have heard things yes

My post is what i have analysed, seen, watched, heard etc anyone with 2x eyes can see there is something seriously wrong with our club rn and we are not improving as a whole

We we all have our own current assessment of Clarko and co performance.

We will all reassess at the end of this awful year

If we had a core midfield group of LDU, Tarryn Thomas, JHF, Simpkin, Sheezel, and Powell this year, I'm sure we'd have won a few games.
Fair call.

I don't think its Saintly actually.

It's not. We have no problem weaseling out and killing his alts thus far. Got one just last week.

I’m NOT Saintly or Snake Baker !
Speaking of which not that I miss him but whatever happened to him ? “Snake Baker”
The ultimate opinionated rude campaigner who admitted to not being a member or attending any North games ?! ggf !!

I’ve never called for him to go, but Clarkson gets another 2 years within this contract before I’ll properly criticise him again. We’re a mess and he’s dealing with another mess elsewhere that’s just as bad, so while he isn’t immune from criticism I think he gets a couple more to work himself through those issues and then weave his magic.

The bloke has shouldered the entirety of HFC’s mismanagement of that scandal, he’s probably the best coach they ever had despite the absolute pillock Kennett throwing shit at him the entire time… He’s singled us out, wanted to come to us, walked into our absolute disaster and he actually wants to fix it.

I mean damn I’m as frustrated as the next person after bad losses and no visible progress but the fact that Clarko is even fronting up at the moment with what he’s going through is as “shinboner” as anything Archer did.

Disregard the negative things I’ve said. I’m 100% with the guy, I’m thankful for him, and hope he stays well enough to fix our mess.

what a weak "V"

what a weak "V"

Why?

“Weak” would be sacking a legend (and returned son of NMFC) in what is potentially his and the club’s darkest hour.

“Strength” would be sticking by him (as the family that our club truly is) and coming out the other side together.

I hate what I’m seeing, but I hate what he’s been put through. We need to get around him.

Yeah, nah.

The HFC issue is clearly collateral damage and unfortunate for the club at the moment.

But if he needs support from the club, it should be in the form of a leave of absence to sort it out and go through the court process.

Adding 2 years to a coaching contract (one of the largest in the comp) for no performance related reasons, achieves what exactly? Especially if we all agree his mind will be elsewhere for a major chunk of that contract.

We aren't a charity and we can't afford any more mistakes after the last 5 years.

Sorry I’ll edit it because it wasn’t clear - I meant he gets 2 years to fix this huge mess, within his contract, before real heat and criticism should come.
Not another 2 years on top of that.

Well there goes the quorum folks - up in smoke right there.

We've all bore witness to it.

Under the rules, that means the thread gets shut down, right?

I knew what you meant all along because we are Clarkson supporting brothers now. :handfist:

You showing abstinence? Onya

You showing abstinence? Onya

Thanks mate.

Don’t get me wrong, so often I’m looking at our games wondering where the progress is or where it will even come from. I’m watching glaring holes in our list and in team selection thinking of so many solutions that never seem to happen. So often I’m watching the press conference thinking “here we go again, he’s going to say the same thing, what are we paying him for?” And I still might feel that from time to time, not gonna lie. But then I look at the monumental shitheap handed to Clarko that he willingly walked in and wanted to fix. He nominated us before other offers even came up. I knew it as soon as I saw him on Fox that day (the “yeah, yeah” interview). As well as the fact that we’ve lost about as much talent as we’ve brought in, what has happened with the whole scandal has taken a real toll on him. I only have to look at his interviews when brand new to the job vs now.

Instead of blame him for not getting immediate wins, I’m going to stand with him. Not no matter what, because there will be valid criticisms to be made, but overall. I’m going to believe in this guy because, hell, he saw enough at our lowest ebb to believe in us.

He wasn’t a guy without options, we were diabolical, and he still came here. I mean.. I love him for that.

Some things are bigger than footy and I know we are not a charity, but this guy is a brother and a son, he is family, and I’m with him all the way. He’s got the runs on the board and while those runs only go so far, most of what has affected him has been because of a rival club we hate. So all the more reason to get around him.

He’s frustrated as we are and it’s coming out in different ways.. but he’s got even more than just our rabble to frustrate him at the minute. Considering the circumstances, he’s handled himself with grace and humility the whole time that I can’t even pretend to aspire to. “Journos” that wanna try and catch him swearing on the bench can get ******* as far as I’m concerned. Leave him alone.

I think he can get the magic back but that’s only going to happen if he gets support. So I know it means almost zero, but if it’s ‘support’ that he needs, he gets all of mine. If this guy gets through his personal battles, gets us out of our deep hole and to a flag again, I’d say it would be the sweetest and most meaningful one we’ve ever had.

Honestly though, what good is going at Clarkson trying to get him sacked right now? What positives can it possibly produce?

Even if you don’t like him and don’t mind grabbing a pitchfork and lining up with Kennett and the bunch of liars, the media etc to keep laying in to him, what good will it do the club?

Absolutely be critical. That’s what it’s all about. This is a forum of ideas, bring them. But if your idea is simply “i hAtE cLarK0 gEt riD oF”, it’s not going to be productive, not going to happen anyway, and starts to look like a bit of a vendetta.

I rate this as his first year. You might not, but I write last year off and he’s still got crap to deal with that he shouldn’t have to.

Yeah it’s bad luck that we got the compromised Clarko instead of the one firing on all cylinders, but turfing him and his team out now would be a disaster. Do you not see that?

No. I Don’t see that .
Cos by now I would have expected that even with a shit list & all the excuses & pardons under the Sun for Clarko that on $1M+ a year he would have at least managed to get the team to play with some fight , spirit & pride for the club , members & our proud jumper .
I keep saying it , “you don’t need to have talent to put pressure & fight the game to the end death”
We are the opposite. We are into round 12 & we have been lucky to have shown remotely this in half a dozen quarters?
Don’t care losing but lose with pride , dignity & the Shinboner way .

I admire your passion for it. We all want the same thing, ultimately, which is success for NMFC. I hope one day soon we all celebrate together.
