If we need a tall back, how about that Frampton guy from the Crows? I heard earlier in the season he was looking like the 2nd coming of Rance.

What if it's not a small forward but a medium forward and it's Gary Rohan, cousin of Ken Hinkley?

Close would be a good get. A half forward who actually kicks goals - imagine that!

Depth is one of our most significant issues. Close will come cheaply and be best 22. If McEntee, Mead, or Lachie Jones want to keep a spot in the forward line they will need to significantly improve.

The next place we need to find some competitive depth is Tom Jonas’ position.

It could be Close or Francis Evans. Evans would basically be free. Close is in contract but probably playing better than he is earning so might be looking for a new contract.

Would be a great get. Rohan goes to water in big games and finals, but he won't be playing either of them under Hinkley. It's a match made in heaven.

Trade him back would be like selling a Holden Craptiva to an niaeve car buyer. You know it's a lemon car but will take the cash anyway.

I know a guy who could facilitate that sale.

In that case, I'd be happy to just go the draft route for a mid such as Phillipou. Them go for a key defender such as Hayes with the Amon compo.

Absolutely.

As long as one of those first two picks is a key defender then we’re doing ok.

Somewhat reluctant to take Hayes though with the Amon compo only due to the way we’ve screwed with the current one we have. Assume he will request a trade and then in a few years we could loose the second Hayes too if he wants to head home with his brother.

Would love to find a way to get Adelaides pick 5 in a 3 way trade with the Suns and Rankine however don’t see how. Grabbing Busslinger and Phillipou would be perfect.

However I still want Busslinger with our first pick of he slides that far.

Quite a bit of trade talk out there. Nothing directly involving Port, but a lot of players linked to Collingwood so Grundy could be a fire sale. Logue and Freo well apart because Freo have a huge offer to Jackson.

Lol what the actual ****?

Is this journo claiming Geelong could get a contracted Jacob hopper for their first round pick?

Rankine hates Port.

Close from the pussies could be a good get. Always snags a couple of goals, runs hard both ways as a forward, has stints in the midfield, honest tackler, efficient in front of the big sticks. Wouldn't cost the earth.

Wasn't it Riley that got 99? Same age as one of my kids - I thought he was doing med at Adelaide Uni or something similar. Or are you saying both Grundy's got 99? Family of underachievers.
Both got in the 90s but Brodie was signifiicantly higher than Riley. I worked for years with a close family friend of the Grundy's.
