Not gonna pretend I know anything about the young crop of new draftees. The only one I really had a good look at pre draft was Pou and he’s the one I wanted but didn’t think he’s get to us.
Just judging our success by going off all your reactions and appears we nailed it.
Unless of course you’re all pretending 😂

What a difference a couple of solid drafts makes…

The current U23s;

B: Connolly - Van Es - Coffield*
HB: Clark* - Adams - Sharman
C: Wang.-Mil. - Owens - Byrnes
HF: Hotton - Allison - Phillipou
F: Peris - King - Keeler
Foll: Heath - Bytel - Windhager

*Coffield and Clark being the next two youngest.

Sure, they’re mostly unproven, and there’s a few that seem a fair way off it so far, but geez there’s some cause for optimism in 2021/22 draft crops…

Just watched some of Keeler's highlights... 😲

The lad moves like a ruck rover! Also I don't recall seeing a big guy like him who looks so good off the left foot. Looks pretty natural. Watching him gave me serious Luke Jackson vibes.

Like TV Jones, looks like a fantastic pickup!

Your missing our rookie and stocker too

McLennan sits outside our list I believe. Theoretically we could take two tomorrow
We either take 1 rookie tomorrow or none and leave it too mid draft or psd. McLennan for NGA, Probably 1 tomorrow, Stocker for psd if he is any good and mid season if there is a long term injury.

So did we turn Ben Long into Ollie Hotton?

I'd take that gamble everyday

Let's take a breath.
They essentially did phark all the whole trade season and took a group of sliders on the night. It looks like a good result, but best just leave it at that..
Exciting group of draftees, everyone should be excited. Especially on the back of Geoff Walsh and RTB appointments along with Rob Harvey, Lenny & BJ plus Misson. Exciting times, we are becoming relevant...

Now the hard work begins

Really happy with this haul. Covered most needs and went hard on speed and x-factor.

We may not have been able to get that extra 2nd round pick but I don't think that has mattered in the end. We've still got a very good group (on paper) and haven't had to eat into next years pick to do it.

Well done to everyone involved. Now let's develop these guys properly.
Yeah if someone had told me we would end up with Hotton, Keeler and Van Es I think I would have presumed we found an extra 2nd round pick.

It was great we managed to fill all the needs that were spoken of as well as find highly rated kids.

Most had Hotton going late first or early 2nd and some had Keeler quote high in the rankings.

Late to the party but we nailed exactly what I wanted last night.

I would have gone Hotton, Keeler then Van Es but whatever.

Loved Gags talking to the AFL Draft team about JVE - "He's a man." If he busts arse he could be RTB's new Zac Dawson FB from outta nowhere.

How good was the haul!!

Even better when we didn't touch our Future Picks- which we'll need to grab all the 2023 SA Talent!

Now add a Rookie, Stocker and our NGA Cat B Rookie and get them to work!
Yeah, agree, potentially the best we have had in many a year
Funny how most experts criticised us for a poor trade period, with our recruitment team all along saying we are going to the Draft
Well they (Recruitment Team)could not have done any better.
Well done to them.

No one saw the Saints coming on draft night... nor did anyone see us leaving...

Disagree - we were not stupid during the trade period for a change. Showed faith in our list by not trading out some players, and have not lost picks in future years. Yeah may have not been spectacular but I am comfortable with that. We are not privileged like Geelong to be gifted a top 10 pick in trade period.

Yes it is early but for once we have addressed needs, I am happy.

Have drafted mids! Along with a defender and ruck with potential.

Not fn hbflankers who we put in the guts.

Last years and this years draft haul is full of class hope in the future we can look back and say yep nailed it. Realise it is to early but believe there is reason to be pleased compared to other years.

We were saved by North though. 9 and Clark for 3 would not have been any better than what we got. And we still have Clark.

Good stuff. Happy with that.
Room for Stocker plus our NGA lad as a rookie just to cap it off?

2 months ago everyone was ready to chuck in the towel. Flat as anything.

I reckon everyone is absolutely chomping at the bit for next season to start now.
You're spot on, haven't been this excited about our club in years.
