Looking forward to the “sports clubs are too woke” brigade’s response to this.

You're using millennial wrong btw, Millennials are Gen Y, most are between 30 & 40 years old

I stand for the Anthem because I am proud of and love my CountryGen X, actually, just not a miserable campaigner who can't adapt.
And Australians standing for the Australian anthem at a game between two Australian teams is the ultimate in sheep behaviour, just doing something because you've been told you should.
Or maybe the club wants to be pro voice....Someone called it last week. The federal government has given the AFL $240M for Tassie stadium, so the AFL clubs have to be pro voice. I don't think there's anything more to it.
It had more to do with winning over sport loving conservatives who typically vote LNP. Voters who are trashing the stadium idea are preferencing Labor anyway. Same reason they are only increasing the dole for 55+ aged Australians this coming budget.Someone called it last week. Stereotypes are there for a reason. Is wearing sunnies in a selfie profile pic a meme of being a redneck?
Or maybe they asked those with First Nations' heritage involved with the club what their opinion is and allowed that to help form the club's stance?Someone called it last week. You think 30 and 40 year olds are the ones driving wokeness? Not sure how the term was used wrongly. From the OED: Millennial – “relating to or denoting people born between the early 1980s and the late 1990s”. So… I stand by my post. I will also stand for the national anthem and be silent and respectful during Anzac services. People who refuse to do those things can GAGF.
People aren't particularly aware of age groups these days. You think 30 and 40 year olds are the ones driving wokeness?
Thanks Hawthorn! Have to ruin everything.Expect statements from all 18 clubs, as instructed by the AFL.
AFL urges clubs to form a position on the Voice referendum
The letter comes after club information sessions in March.www.sen.com.au
That's ridiculous....it was 10 years ago right??People aren't particularly aware of age groups these days.
Probably still think 1992 was 20 years ago.
Or maybe they asked those with First Nations' heritage involved with the club what their opinion is and allowed that to help form the club's stance?
So, just another of the 'woke' brigade? Our statement was drafted by Ben Wyatt, an indigenous board member, FWIW.
Gun to their head .... if they don't support it, they're a traitor to their people.Or maybe they asked those with First Nations' heritage involved with the club what their opinion is and allowed that to help form the club's stance?
