You've also mentioned our lack of leadership in defence, that there isn't a marshall there to organise structures and lead. Minimal presence or direction from Butts and Murray. Maybe we see Redman as being able to fill that role
Possibly .....have we seen any evidence though any leadership qualities .....it's hard to tell, as it was with Dawson

Defensive leadership is very important though, and I still think we have too many "quiet" types in key posts

Both Rutten and Talia were leaders & organisers back there

Redman has coaches votes in 7 out of 11 games prior to this round, with only Dawson and Laird having more votes for us, and Merrett for Essendon. So basically you're saying every game where he isn't 'very average' he's in the best half dozen players on the field as judged by the coaches. Which seems like pretty high praise to me.
Of course, it depends on what Redman's role is .....the ESS defence is not that great for talls

The stat I'm aware of is that Redman suffers more in ESS losses than wins .....strange really, because defenders usually do better when the ball is in their zone more

And the ESS defence has been chipping it around more in DEF, where other sides are exiting the D50 quickly ......that pads the Defenders stats

Darcy Moore and Billy Frampton

I remember my Floggingwood supporting mate asking me about how Frampton would go last year. My response was that he'd probably be ok. Lepitsch has a history of simplifying roles for defenders.

Moore is extremely good at organising the defence on field. They have a settled back 6 with Moore, Maynard, Quaynor, Noble. Add Daicos playing off of HBF and good midfield support.

Frampton still looked like a deer in the headlights on occasion in the first couple of games I watched with him playing a KPD. But its seemed to working for them

I agree re Moore's defensive organisation is great .....I just don't see it with Murray / Butts though ....we'll miss Doedee from a leadership perspective down there.

Both Butts and Murray are probably both completely absorbed in their own roles/games right now. Perhaps it a time/experience thing.

Agree we'll miss that from Doedee.

My brother did his ACL in the mid 90s.

Played out the game, then another the next day. Junior SANFL and club footy. Often played two games in a weekend.

Wasn't till Tuesday it started to hurt and our GP told him to go to a specialist.

This screenshot proves what exactly? You've literally just shared Essendon's results and Redman's fantasy stats

If I have to explain them to you ...then it would be too long an explanation

BTW they're the ranking points Champion Data use to rate players .....rightly or wrongly ....however they should be dovetailed with SC stats which IMO are more in-depth, and add to the picture

I haven't ever considered Redman for my supercoach team. Tim Watson rates Redman who is a fairly good judge. Just moved into the top 6k for supercoach. My goal is the top 1k.

According to Essendon supporters, he is a leader so could possibly getting Dawson 2.0.

Oh I know the answer, and it starts with "you're" and ends with "a giant nuffie"

Fantasy stats prove nothing.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Doedee. Had he already told the club he was off and if he had will that club still take him now or was that dependant on him being fully fit. I would presume if the crows had offered him a deal and he rejected that deal to take up a deal with Geelong for example that club takes on the risk as Tom was foregoing a guaranteed contract with us. Generally speaking the knee is meant to be stronger after an ACL so if Tom is back round 8 I don't think a club like Geelong will worry too much about that. The deal may have only been 2-3 years by another club due to the fact that he has suffered an ACL previously so their risk isn't that great.
