Any rucks stuck in 2nd position behind a proven player who are worth a 3rd rounder? Or are we better off playing Strauchan?

With Briggs playing well, Flynn and Pruess at the Giants may be an option. Pittonett? Xerri?
Moyle from the Suns

Will have some stiff competition in the coming years from top 10 academy prospect Read

Pruess is a disaster but would come cheaply. Just doesn’t string games together

Watching us get smashed in the midfield again in centre clearances and contested possession.

There is an unsigned mid who averages the most disposals in the comp (33), 4th highest contested possession (15), 2nd most centres clearances on average (3.8) and 480m gained which sits him at 21st in the comp for that stat.

Starting to wonder if maybe he is the best option to go for and maybe hopeful we have a bid in

Well who?

Well who?

Parish.
After watching us get obliterated in the centre clearances again I was just having a look at possible “plug and play” options.

His stats, including metres gained, are really good. Not the player I would generally target but there are very very few proven options out there that would be desirable and most number 1-2 mids are locked in on long term deals

Goldy is surely going to retire at the end of the season so Xerri is primed to be no1. Pittonett just resigned for long term and De Koning is likely getting traded. Neither are an option.

Zero chance he comes to us. No one really wants Redman for that price but he is one of the few that might actually come.

After another weak midfield performance, Nicks needs to get creative.

After watching Milera and Jones for the last few weeks these boys need runs through the middle. Jones plays wing so that can be covered with a few players. Laird could cover Milera or we start bringing in Nankervis or Cook for that reason?

Whilst add it Nicks should be swapping Himmelberg and Borlase in the SANFL, I reckon Borlase would do ok as a forward

Agree with the jones to the centre.. and maybe even milera..

Want nank and cook given a chance too..

But himmelberg as a defender?..

No thanks.

Laziest footballer going around is our Himmelburg.. just doesnt bother competing unless its on his terms..

Last thing we need is Himmelburg jogging along 5m behind his opponent in defense all game.. opposition forward would have a field day.

If you need any evidence if why Milera should be in ball, look at the AFC latest Instagram.

On Himmelberg, you may be right and they might want to keep the extra tall option in case Thilthorp is unavailable

Milera finally plays 2 or 3 decent games and you want to move him?

Not nearly intense enough for a KPD.

ACL for Doedee - will affect his FA significantly

Would be fascinating to know the inner workings of this scenario and how clubs operate.

Since Doedee can't legally sign until the offseason he is the one assuming all the risk of injury. I wonder if there are verbal agreements in place with his new club that protect him in this instance.

Oddly enough I would give RT a run at CHB, so he doesn’t have to worry about what’s coming from behind so much, he tends to run under the ball too much worrying about a whack in the back of the head

"The Giants will look to settle Himmelberg in a key defensive post across the second half of the season, having started forward under new coach Adam Kingsley, with McCartney expecting contract talks to heat up around the club's round 15 bye."

Even if he does leave it sounds very unlikely he will come to Adelaide. I can't recall seeing anything in the media linking him to us. There is normally some sort of smoke by now if there is something there. I have heard him linked to multiple Vic clubs and Sydney, but no mention of us being involved.

There was an article earlier in the year that mentioned we had been in contact with him and his manager and that his parents had actually recently moved to Adelaide.. also mentioned his brother obviously already playing for us as another link..

All rumours of course except for the last..

In 2021 Dawson was usually named at half back for Sydney. His transition to the midfield has been amazing.

Could Redman transition to the midfield? I think that could work.

I wouldn't be shocked if Redman isn't our target. Who knows.

With no obvious SA talent in the draft im relatively convinced we are looking to trade.
If Redman comes via free agency perhaps we are looking at two inclusions.

Lots of unknowns including Doedee.. does he accept our smaller offer now compared to competitors who may have pulled their larger offers off 2 ACLs?
Do we get lucky and get two players in and because of the injury keep Doedee for the next three years?
