That’s the thing, we’ll probably be watching them play off in a Grand Final within 4-6 years.

Twice they’ve been absolute poo and rebounded at a rate usually only reserved for 90’s expansion/merger teams.

2001 (5 wins) —> 2005GF/2006🏆
2010 (4 wins) —> 2015GF/2018🏆
2023 (1 win*) —> 20??

2001: Judd, Sampi, Seaby, Hansen, Q Lynch

2010: Gaff, Cripps, Darling, Lycett

2023: Reid?…

Especially our mate Snake Baker 😂😂😂
Those Kangas are still comin
West Coast will be ruthless, they will sack coaches, staff ( Trevor Nisbett should be first he's been CEO for 24 years) and players, and then go and chase players, ex WA guys as well as from other states, and can attract them with big ASAs - both salary capped and independent outside the cap.

They will get plenty of picks and recruit a whole lot of WA's best kids and be back within 3 or 4 years. They have the resources to get out of the s**t quickly.
I think part of their problem will be they'll be looking for the quick rise. They need to settle in, it's been obvious the last few years that a very long rebuild was on the cards. They're literally looking at a 5-7 year total rebuild to get to that challenging level again. Cutting corners will only get them stuck in a low-mid table funk.

Did the football world seem to care about us or Melbourne this much when we were pumped by 100+ points every week? Or nah?

If some of these teams outside the 8 can keep winning, it's setup for a great end of the season crunch for the 8.

Essendon, StKilda, Adelaide, Geelong, Fremantle, Richmond, Gold Coast. None of them have been convincing, and if you were to look at that list you'd actually say the better teams are a few of those outside the 8.

If the Bombers lose tonight and we beat them, they start to fall right back. The Saints look on track to drop out. The Crows have the easiest draw in history at home which might sneak them in. It's really all about whether a couple of those sides outside the 8 get a bit of a roll on.

I'd love to see GC just get it rolling and squeeze in, but not sure they've got it in them just yet.

The sheer scale of what WC is doing is on a completely different level. It is all time bad, not just a crash, but years of failure culminating in an all time worst season.

Melbourne still has the highest loss of recent times being that of 186 points in 2011 against Geelong, and another in 2013 to the hands of Essendon of about 148. I don’t remember so many people caring outside of Melbourne fans. Maybe because I live in Perth..

No one gave a shot about us and called for us to be dropped from the league.

WCE current predicament is self inflicted. Not years of failure, they won a flag 5 years ago. This isn’t Carlton 25 years of agony yet.

So the whole percentage argument is completely compromised this year in favour of the teams playing WCE twice - it's basically as good as three lots of four points. It's entirely possible this year that ninth could be simply decided by a team not playing WCE twice.

Would never happen, but perhaps a fairer way of doing this in a compromised competition is to average the percentage from double up games and just add that once (eg 100-50 and 200-50 double up scores against one team instead of being counted as 300-100 would be 150-50).

It depends on which ones play WCE and north again.

Well all their future aspirations are in the toilet. A gap would be better on your resume than listing west coast as your 2023 employer 🤣🤣🤣
