People will laugh at me, but I’d love to be a Hawks supporter with this group. They have a very nicely balanced, young list. Some high end draft picks (Day, Weddle, McKenzie and then others who are not necessarily dominant yet; Ward, Watson, Grainger-Barass), and some very highly performing lower draft pick / trade pick ups (Worpel, Nash, Moore, Newcombe, D’Ambrosio, Ginnivan, Jiath). Dear looks like a beautiful mark. We know Lewis can play too. They’ve got a lot to work with.

Having said that, they may still lose this one.

It’s the intensity, the nothing to lose mentality they are playing with.
Their first quarter against was humiliating . (17 inside 50’s to 3 I think)

I have just watched the Hawthorn v GWS and yes commentary was putrid. Dermott Brereton absolutely horrendous says the most obvious things.

Hawthorn were really impressive when they played us - first time I had a good look at them. Fast ball movement, clever kick in strategies. They have at least one small forward who bobs up every week. They play exciting football and are at you all the time.

I have just watched the Hawthorn v GWS and yes commentary was putrid. Dermott Brereton absolutely horrendous says the most obvious things.

Derm sucks the life out of a game and drags every commentator down with him.

I know a lot of people like to watch the game with the sound off, but I do prefer to listen to commentary. But whenever Brereton is on I find I spend most of the time just saying "shutup Derm" everytime he opens his mouth. Kelli is like fingernails on a blackboard, but Derm annoys me even more than her.

Definitely the improvers this year, the comp is wide open apart from Sydney.
