Simpkin annoys the * out of me mate. Well they all do, just simpkin significantly more than the other two
I'm with. Highly overrated. Makes as many **** ups as anyone else on the list. He's shown he has elite ability but doesn't do it enough. He had 2 tackles on the weekend, thats not a captains output.

He's been in the coaches votes only twice. He needs to start leading.

McKay & Zurhaar getting a mentioned in the * "war chest" article.

"According to the Herald Sun, Ben McKay could yield a deal worth up to $800,000 per season, which might be what it takes for the Kangaroos to get a high enough compensation draft pick to allow the key defender to walk.

They Bombers face stiff competition from the surging Power for McKay’s services, but Essendon appears to have several advantages including its link to the 25-year old through Scott, his former coach, its strong salary cap position and the prospect of allowing him to stay in Victoria.

They’ll be banking on McKay staying healthy, having been restricted to just 63 AFL games since getting drafted in 2015, largely due to numerous injuries."

"Cam Zurhaar will become a free agent in 2024 too, so you’d expect the Bombers to again make a play for the talented midfielder/forward as something of a long-term replacement for Jake Stringer in that striker role.

Watch this space ..."

The thing is everything is gonna look sexier once the back 6 is sorted then watch the media say someshit like 'we're the best bottom 4 side ever' and goodbye priority picks.

Clarkson said repeatedly that our back 6 struggles or has no good ball users coming out of the backline. In today's game, that sends a message to opposition to immediately setup for the long kick down the line or push the zone forward through the middle for the turnover. We're so boringly predictable back there it's ridiculous how badly it's impacting the rest of the team.

It's not even just about good ball users but we could literally do so much better with an athletic player that can kick half decently. That's how low the bar has been set for our backline and they can't get near it.

Lmac has regressed, Corr's form is falling, JZ has lost a bit of form, Logue and McKay are doing their best and we're trying to play Bergs as much as we can because he's so much better than his teammates with the ball.

The sooner Goater, Young, Dawson, Perez, Bergman etc. get some more AFL exposure, the better we will be. They are all huge upgrades on their senior counterparts.

McKay and Logue (possibly Corr as backup) are unfortunately the only blokes I would keep. The young boys should be able to rotate through there and I think this is the original Clarko plan eventually.

Been there done that. They went hard after CZ at the end of his last contract

Oh I’m all too familiar with it.

And now I’m really fed up with it.

All the talk about ‘stepping up‘ and ‘going to the next level’ and blah blah platitudes blah

I’m over it, the talk is cheap now and we’re stagnating with all the dead weight squandering our younger prospects. What’s worse is the culprits don’t even get dropped, don’t get challenged, it’s all smiles and cruising through the years.

Nothing about this squad right now screams they’re serious about winning, just that they slowly expect things to magically turn good if it runs into the next year.

Hoping that there will be an exodus of our senior non-productive players at the end of the season. If there isn't, then we are truly embracing mediocrity in perpetuity.

Zurhaar leaving wouldn't be as bad as what i thought it was going to be at the end of last year.

In saying that I still want to keep him.

Brad Scotts didn't rate McKay when he was North coach! lol
Yep. Spot on. Scott had to be dragged kicking and screaming to play McKay or Durdin for that matter. His 63 game tally has as much to do with those early wilderness days under Scott as it does with injury.

Another example of sh#% being made up by our intrepid journos.
