Yes we do. W

We certainly do, but in all negotiations someone gives. Just let me emphasise, the odds of Brocky going home, AT SOME TIME, perhaps not even playing footy are strong. The Ryan/Brocky duo would no doubt work and work strongly, BUT how much do we want Ryan. The senior coach and his mates will tell you.

All I will say, I understand it remains extremely fluid.
I really can't see us talking to Ryan and having him spend a bunch of time here with Brocky to end up trading Brocky for Ryan.

It makes zero sense.

Nash88 is back
Really hesitant to post this considering what happened years ago with the Coniglio saga however:

Tyler Brockman unfortunately will return to WA at the end of this season. Liam Ryan will be a Hawk, straight swap with some draft picks thrown in each way. The lure of home is too strong for Brockman with a young family.

DGB, at this stage, will stay at the club.

We will not trade up for Pick 1 and Harley Reid.

If Watson is available at Pick 3, take it to the bank he will be a Hawk.

Intention is to trade in to this years first round using our future first - Duursma or Caddy at this point in time.

Please and I repeat PLEASE take this info with a grain of salt. I’m sure Topiary can corroborate.

Thanks for the info. We're all gagging for any crumbs of insight, so appreciated.

Trading our Future 1st for anyone out of the top 5/6 is a bit scary. We're an injury to Lewis & Sicily away from finishing bottom 3 again, even with some good ins.

Not surprised at Brockman returning at some point home, always had that feeling and with a young family totally understandable
Would love Ryan but only if he’s over any injuries and for not too much more than Brockman in a swap

Thanks for the info

The thing with it is that there are no real Free Agents this year for us to pursue and this will be the last year of hitting the draft hard. Our midfield is quite clearly in a good position, our defence has had youngsters introduced to it who are showing a bit with more still to try in the VFL and McCabe (projected top 20) coming in. Forward line needs work and this is where Nick Watson and Liam Ryan come in to play.
Trade out our future first and add one of Duursma/Caddy along side Watson and Ryan and this is clear X Factor.

Our big play for a Free Agent will come next season and there’s no guessing to who that will be.

Absolutely agree here. Can’t fault the young lad as family always comes first, to be honest, as silly as it may sound when I’ve watched him the last few weeks I just get the feeling he has checked out. Wish him nothing but the best for his future regardless.

Liam Ryan obviously has suffered a bad Hamstring injury this season but with Peter Burge looking after him and the opportunity to somewhat reinvigorate himself in a new state after a terrible few seasons in the West is a big opportunity. The upside to bringing him in, if he is over his injuries and buys in 100% is huge. Would love him at the club, would transform our forward line.

Watching some Flyin Ryan clips before - he is a human highlight reel, I forgot how legit fearless he is going for his marks

Makes us more watchable which is a need in the middle of a rebuild
Add Flyin Ryan, Riccardi, Watson and even Gresham into our forward half and there’s going to be some fun at the footy.

Trade involving West Coast and Gold Coast

Out: To West Coast - Brockman, Hawthorn 2024 1st rounder and *Gold Coast 2024 2nd rounder

In: Ryan, West Coast 2023 2nd rounder (currently pick 19), Port 2023 2nd rounder (currently pick 36) and West Coast 2023 3rd (currently pick 38)

Out: To Gold Coast - Pick 19 (948 points), Pick 30 (629 points), Pick 36 (502 points) and Pick 38 (465 points) = Total points 2544

In: Pick 5 (1878 points) and *Gold Coast 2024 2nd rounder on traded to West Coast.

Draft: Pick 3 - Duursma (avoid Dees keen on taking Zane at pick 4)
Pick 5 - Watson
Matched Pick - McCabe

Any news regarding Jake Riccardi? With Koschitzke and Jeka both likely to be moved on, it seems like an obvious choice to target him as an immediate replacement with McCabe & Ramsden needing time in the VFL to develop.

What pick would we see our f1 getting us this year? If norf get band 1 compo, then unless it is top 5 pick it’s not worth it IMO. Assuming eagles take Reid and norf take McKercher and Curtin after the Walter bid, we take watson, then there is only caddy and Duursma left in the top bracket. That’s dees or suns, don’t see dees trading and suns we can get without giving up first (2 seconds and our f2) would be enough.

Yep, nash88 with great update but as tops has mentioned, it's always fluid. But, dgb, isn't in our plans to trade at all! I mentioned in another post as to why.
Ryan would be awesome.
Watson the wiz in our sights.
A second first rounder will give us YET another top end talent. Caddy/ Duursma.

Cheers for the info, have you heard anything on Gresham?

If North get gifted a beginning of second round pick that requires to be traded again, I could see Scrimshaw being someone they target.
And that pick would be enough to enable us to get the suns first so it might be a blessing in disguise. I really rate scrimshaw but we have a lot of intercepting defenders if his departure allows us to add someone like Duursma or caddy that’s probably a better balance for our list.

Please post as often as you'd like. I'd hope there is more maturity shown these days towards anybody who can offer even the smallest peak behind the curtain.

Do any of these “in the know posters” actually know what they’re talking about? Seems they just point out the bleeding obvious. Wasn’t it Roughandlove the only ridgy didge one?
I assume if he got threadmarked there is a reason
