Tigers got Pick 19 for CCJ, who had shown SFA as an AFL player.

I don’t think ultimately getting Pick 25 or an F2 for Kosi is unreasonable, maybe an R4/F4 back. He is a young KPP on the market who has kicked 27 goals in a season previously, and we are not kicking him out.

Pick 25 will end up as a Pick 30+ with all of the academy and F/S selections…

As I have said previously, I can see us targeting F2s for next year either through pick upgrades or otherwise to give us an opportunity to pinch an F1 next year to facilitate future trades.

I would think a more than fair trade would be an F2 for Kosi + R4/F4 going back.

Don’t know whether to believe this

Oh no, the legendary afl.exclusive has spoken.

Might as well pack it in :(

Give us something decent or we might as well send him to the PSD.

Why? I honestly don’t get this mentality. If you’re selling a car for $10,000 and the best offer you get for it is $6,000 are you better off taking the $6,000 or setting the car on fire? Has any club who’ve thrown the tantrum and let a player go to the PSD ever come out the better for it? All you’re doing is giving our opposition a free asset.

Stop speaking for other people! You speak only for you.

I had no opinions on Esava or his possible price. Some people were baulking at paying a second rounder. Thanks for playing.

Because the analogy isn’t that simple.

In the AFL economy, talls are as valuable aa hens teeth. We have one. Richmond don’t. If they think they can get him for cheap, he’ll just head to the draft where someone else will snap up.

Or, we can create urgency and stick firm and not acquiesce to a pick that history shows has a very poor statistical chance of making it.

Anybody got some solid info on Ben McKay

I find it odd that people seem to accept that talls are a premium and that the club will pay a very high price for McKay yet don't expect much for Kozi. Richmond is interested in Kozi for a reason. They see that there is something there for them. And he hasn't exactly been languishing in the twos. A second-round pick is, therefore, not unreasonable. That is the market too.

100% and they want him to fill a void. It's not like their is a abundance of options on the market this year.
Fringe player played 12 games 23 y.o Hold out for R2/F2 with a late pick in return is reasonable.

McKay is simply a better player than Kosi and is in demand with multiple clubs. The final two clubs rate him high enough to offer rather lucrative contacts.

Kosi is an average athletic tall, who has garnered little interest.

Not sure Richmond would show interest with what would obviously be a multi-year contract if they considered him an average athletic tall. Is McKay worth a first rounder? Kozi is still quite young, still an improver, played some very good football this year and IMO he is worth a second. Club needs to play hard ball on this. There is a case there.

I hope the Hawks are moving on from McKay and chasing a quality key defender before the ship sails this trade period.

I still think Chol stays at the Suns.

No idea who we will turn our attention to next, but I guess the club will leave no stone unturned.

Could we potentially end up shifting both DGB and Serong permanently into the forward line for 12 months as those 3rd tall options if Ramsden and Ryan don't come on as hoped?

As for defence, the existence of Sam Frost means we have 12 more months to discover or develop another big defender.

honestly seems like this whole thing has been a huge game of chicken

whichever way it goes it seems each club kept revising its offer and adding more shit until eventually one party caved. so it does makes sense to me that essendon would be more desperate for a FB with BZT leaving. our KPD stocks aren't good but at least we have some on our list. and bringing in McCabe is a nice bonus too
