The hilarious part is saints supporters deny they had 2 players on him and sometimes a third blocking the space. Every football commentator has mentioned it and our players mentioned how at half time they decided utilitise the spare player to push up to clearances if the saints were going to persist.

Their supporters make it sound like wilkie was doing it all on his own

It was always a terrible idea, forced upon us on the back of the salary cap fiasco. Effectively means that our 'home' games at the G are often against sides that enjoy a greater home ground advantage there than we do (Melb, Coll, Rich). Similarly at Marvel, we often get 'home' games against Saints, Dogs, Norf. We probably have the weakest home ground advantage of any side in the comp, tempered only by the greater numbers we can bring to away games.

that's nuts. Those are the sort of changes you see happen from a season to season not within a 8 week period. Scary stuff

Another crazy stat from the Riley Beveridge article at AFL website:

16 out of the 23 players in our team that beat the Saints have played VFL this season!

“[]Paddy Dow (10 VFL games), Lachie Fogarty (nine), Caleb Marchbank (six), []Zac Fisher[/] (six), Brodie Kemp (five), Alex Cincotta (four), David Cuningham (three), Jesse Motlop (three), Matt Cottrell (two), Tom De Koning[/] (two), Ed Curnow (two), Ollie Hollands (one), Matt Owies (one), Jack Martin[/] (one), [PLAYERCARD]Marc Pittonet (one) and George Hewett (one) have all found themselves playing at reserves level throughout the year.”

Not sure if this one has been posted anywhere on here yet. I was in the process of piecing together a post bye ladder, but kept getting sidetracked, but stumbled upon this this morning.
Bearing in mind that these stats from the last 9 games include our losses to Dees and Dons where we were still deplorable.

Here's all of Charlie's frees.
I thought I counted 4 that were marks, but the guy who made the video said that 5 were marks anyway. And one of them was for insufficient and Curnow was just smart enough to make sure he was the closest player.
Not seeing any that really looked like howlers either. Would be interesting to see a video of the obvious arm chops, push in the backs, over the shoulders, blocks and jumper tugs that weren't called.
I honestly think that the only reason he gets more frees is because of how often defenders infringe on him. I reckon the percentage of infringements called vs not called wouldn't be much different to all the other main KPFs.

There was an article about this just today … Charlie receives a lot more frees than other forwards and Taylor Walkers former teammate explained that the reason Charlie has had twice as many frees as Tex and far fewer frees against is simply that Charlie is very fast and tries to get separation from his opponent and his opponents panic and give away a free when he’s got away whereas Tex and other such key forwards use their strength and engage in a tussle to take a mark.

You would think Foxtel game given the news timeslots etc
On the AFL app
If you click on to the Carlton v GWS game, there’s Match info page click onto the tv and radio guide, click onto round 24 and it will take you to all that weekends games broadcast information…

Atm it’s only showing Foxtel and Kayo for all games, nothing on Ch7 or radio like the next two rounds 22 & 23 has, looks like it’s still yet to be all finalized/worked out…

I think Fox have it exclusively tv wise.

Blind Freddie can see the defenders panic. Moore lost his cool.
Charlie had him on toast continually. Even against the stains on the weekend there multiple times he had his defender sweating bullets only for the 2nd or 3rd defender to get in front. No 1 player can stop Charlie in full flight for a whole game no chance. He’ll either out mark you or out work you on the deck or up the ground and deliver a 60m dart to another forward inside 50. If this was the NBA he’d be prime Kevin Durant he’ll beat you at all 3 levels

Bad: We seem to have more injuries than other clubs every year (recruiting injury-plagued players a contributor)

Good: We very quickly made the leap from unfittest team to one of fittest a few years ago

Neutral: Not sure if gameplan is a contributor to injury record.

Conclusion: I have NFI.

I'm not sure we have to have an idea. We can simply as a group call out the obvious like you have done in the good and bad. When the bad like our recent form prior to the 7 wins hits a crescendo, we play a part in instigating change within the club. Even some of the feral anger towards the players walking off the ground would have had to have an impact same as if you faced that personally in the street.

It is a constant battle between blind support, analysed support, or frustrated anger support. Always three camps on this site mixing it up. It's reached a crescendo this year due to 20+ years in the abyss, and expectations as we know we have crazy talent on this list.

I look back at the Wayne Hughes era and felt the supporter group should have brought more heat to him who lasted years and years. Kernahan should have felt more heat. A dire time.

This revival IMO is due to 1) the players, 2) Voss and 3) outside heat - in that order.

Conclusion. Fight your corner, state your theories, and show your emotion.

Funny how Sayers is front and centre in the wins and invisible or overseas in the losses. I'd say we have an impact.

post basically justifies the hurling of abuse at players as if they aren't aware of the problem until that happens....quality work.....
