JB hasn't been given any sort of a run at it from Lyon. He played ok when he brought him in then he drops him straight away and continues to play Gresham who can't hit the side of a barn. It's a joke.
A dad joke - not funny!

JB deserves a spot over Gresh. But Seb needs to come in if fit. Change the midfield dynamic a bit. At least he can run out a game unlike Hunter.

Clark had 67% game time (total). and 1 disposal from 20min game time in the last quarter!!

Deserves to be dropped

How many disposals did Steele have in the last quarter?

It's easy to forget how Seb was playing before he got injured.

Seb and Gresham in ahead of Clark and Billings does my head in

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of directive to keep playing Gresh. As soon as he's dropped so will his value. Not long to go now.

Not even upset with the Clark omission, needs a kick up the ass and a big pre season.

Ha, I reckon we could find this quote a few times in each of his past seasons.

Well for one Steele’s the captain and actually stood up against North and Hawthorn so I’m not dropping him.

And below are Hunters stats vs Seb’s. Hunter on left Seb on the right. So from what I can see Seb has still had a slightly better more impactful year.

I’ve delved a little deeper into Clark.

He is clearly no where near fit enough aerobically for AFL footy.

Last month of footy

GC - 36% game time (wasn’t even sub or subbed)

North - 60% game time and 1 last qtr disposal from (70% tog)

Hawks - 67% game time

Carlton - 67% game time and 1 last qtr disposal from (77% tog)

There’s clearly a reason for this.
stats were mostly similar last year if i rememeber rightly

He doesn’t want it.

Yep. Was put on notice last year when we shopped him around. Then came back with new coaches and clearly hasn’t fixed any of the issues that were holding him back.

You’d think that’d be enough of a kick up the ass. If he’s at the club by the end of trade period then he’ll want to work his ass off to get a spot in the team, otherwise he’ll be on the outside of Ross’ best 22

I'm not saying drop Steele.

Seb was good early in the season. He was playing poorly before he got injured.

sorry are we talking about our No.7 DP, don't you build teams around first rounders?

A draft pick is just an order of selection. Means nothing once you are in a side. Seb Ross gets picked by multiple coaches because he must play a role that doesn't always look very exciting. Hunter Clark is a mid who can't play a full match on ball and if he goes back he's competing with Stocker, Webster and Paton.

HC has had 4 (out of 15) games over 24 possessions the best of which was 27. The last 6 weeks 20 has been his best game. Winning very little contested ball which is his stock in trade too. He can't rest forward and they don't like unsettling the backline.

We need to win the ball on the inside against the Tigers and it looks like we are picking a side that we think can do that best.

I like seb in
Busts a gut

Our best footy this year was when he was playing well. We dropped away at the same point that his form dropped away. Perhaps they have him in a defined role that we aren't seeing. I think Membrey and King are more of a headache for defences too. Hopefully they are all ready to go. Last chance saloon for us.

so should we be thinking outside the convex octagon and start selecting players much, much lower in the draft?

have we been looking at the draft order all wrong?

Way I see it;

Membrey for Caminiti is exp boost, otherwise I'd prefer keeping Hammer as Members is a stop and prop marker for our bullshit bombing to defense advantage.

Gresh probably gets preferred as a forward to JB because he at least looks busy and has Sebs thing of "is there and visible even if disposal is subpar" as opposed to JB emulating Sharmans disappearing act business. If JB was still the HFF sometimes mid that drifts forward, that'd be better but since he saw himself as a forward, there's just better options since he's likely matching with Higgins in the role.

That's then why Seb comes in since he'd bridge the Steele or Crouch having bupkiss whilst Hunter would be planted on his arse on a bench huffing and puffing from half a match or watching as his opponent runs away whilst he takes a step and decides "better jog" as an option.

JB's core problem was he got injured instead of kicking Gresh in the balls to maybe try and fix his kicking action.

Clark could be a good option as the sub, he doesn't have the tank to play midfield for four quarters but he could have a big impact there for one quarter.

That depends on us being able use the sub tactically though rather than replacing a player that got injured in the first half which is what usually happens

I get the Gresh and Billings call I'd switch them too, but at this stage of the season you take Seb over Clark every day of the week. Clark has been practically useless this season apart from the odd good quarter.
