there is a zero percent chance of that happening IMO
Not what I'm hearing.

Would have thought the roof would come out more giving protection to the people in the lower level.
Cantilever roof is expensive as it is, the one at the G is much heavier and expensive and it can't cover everyone either. It's footy, shouldn't be played indoors imo......

I thought they'd connect the stands together and reconfigure the walkway behind it.
I'm sure it's not as easy as just joining them together but it would look nicer

It might be a difficult and costly ... So just how much does it cost ..compared to how many seats you get and how much better it looks. For example ...where does that second level go when you run it around to the Hickey.

One has to remember that over 90% of the cost is not coming from the club... so considering how much should other organisations contribute ..any minor adjustments will be hard to get approved. Its why I doubt we ever see a Brunton street type hang over on Moorbabool street.

Its going to take constant sell outs similar to what it was like in WA to create any momentum towards further spend at KP... a big rectangular netball basketball stadium like Kia up in Melb would be for the city. Sooner or later there is going to be pressure for a bigger rectangle stadium for soccer and rugby as well.

Yeah I agree. Couldn't do it without tearing down the last remaining stand. Maybe in 30 years.
Could a new scoreboard go somewhere in their to fill the space? I'm just spitballing as I haven't been to the stadium in years.

I wonder if eventually personal screens make big stadium screens redundant. I'd be aiming towards the possible total removal of scoreboards and screens or at least minimising them ... and putting in a the best WIFI media access that can be granted including free access to the match via Kayo at the ground. So many people have phone or pads at the footy. Some stadiums are putting stuff into seats .. so who knows where it lands in the next 10 to 20 years.

If we do nothing we will eventually be left to look like yesterdays tech ..a bit like the old scoreboard at AFL park ...there is nothing sure that other stadium will continue to push the standard

It will be interesting to see if anything is done to the big screens in the future.
I sat in the back row of the Players Stand v GWS and the screens were unwatchable.

Can’t imagine it’ll be any better with even more rows in the new stand.

I have been very wrong many many times before and hope to be here as well, would love to see the Pies first up in Geelong, largely for the melts

I agree the screen quality is really subpar at the ground. Even the LED displays aren't great.

My seat is Players Stand, the bay beside the Premiership Stand - I can generally watch the screen on Moorabool St side, but no hope the one at the other end

Would be good to get 2 really good screens in

To avoid having a similar incident to the above. I think you will find a triangle join will be a far stronger design than a flat roof.
Triangular structures are generally the strongest truss designs you can get, because every section has forces in tension/compression against it from two other sections at each join.

I'd like to think there is enough stuff that needs powering year-round that it's viable.
It's definitely viable. I'm just commenting from the perspective of someone who lives in South-East Queensland. It would surely be just about criminally negligent not to put solar panels on the roof of a redeveloped stadium up here.
