especially after the weekends goal umpire **** up

like i dont know how anyone cannot have the view the AFL are trying their best for sydney to play finals for tv ratings

Has anyone bemoaned the actual hand outs they’ve received? Like who are you responding to then? Cause you’ve replied to me and Stav and neither of us have said anything about what they got so far.
OK - I must have misunderstood.

So we all agree that no one thinks North have received any excessive assistance from the AFL so far and no one wants to see it happen this year (especially if its via some manipulation of the rules by the AFL)

Now if you can clear up whether I misunderstood this post as well (which started it all), we'll be sweet.

I took it that you thought if North's compo for McKay turns out to be immediately after their first pick, that's bearable as long as they finish 2nd last.

But if they finish last, the AFL should then manipulate their FA compo rules so North don't get Pick 2 as well.

Manipulate, don't manipulate

You seem to think that the FA compo is clear cut and easy to administer and fact check from a public POV and thats simply not true.

The point i was making was that public perception of Norths assistance will likely factor into the outcome of how much they get.

If they finish 17th and get pick 2 and the McKay deal winds up netting band 1 compo and pick 3, the general footballing public will be frustrated but likely accept it. If they finish 18th and get pick 1 and the McKay deal winds up netting band 1 compo and they get pick 2 the general footballing public will be really frustrated and clubs might also be pissed off. If they get pick 2 as compo AND then get another likely top 10 player with their NGA guy AFL house might get burned to the ground.

Now it is purely speculative (which youve said you have no interest in discussing yet somehow, here we are) but clubs and the AFL are both involved in both the contract terms given to an FA (which decides the compo) and in signing it off.

Different scenario but look at the Bowes deal from last year. Geelong gave a 3rd rounder (from memory) and took on his 4 year expensive deal. As soon as the ink was dry they changed those terms and gave him another year (or two) for no extra money.

Can you really not envisage a scenario with all parties coming to terms on a band 2 compo (so the Roos dont wind up with pick 1 and 2) and that NGA deal being approved? Do you genuinely not think that all parties have quiet convos to ensure that the outcome is pallatable to all parties?

TLDR:

Ross, Wayne, Gil had positive influence on AFL commission and football. Andrew is 0-1 sicne only focused on cash flow and propping himself up like a good narc. Gil handing over to Andrew Dillion.

Will Andrew be 0-2 and an inferior name for AFL administrators? Will Dillion end up be called Randy Slipon for sloppy seconds?
🤣🤣🤣

It’s fun to read but I have no idea what it means!

I know, it was a joke.

I thought Essendon might have responded after that embarrassing 100 point loss against GWS but it looks like they are headed for another one tonight.

The wheels have really fallen off for them in the last few weeks even worse than they did for us last year, if only they appointed RTB instead of Bad Scott

Maybe this is their response, play even worse to prove it wasn’t a fluke.
