99.9% of their back catalogue doesn't suit the GF, and a large part of that is execrable in terms of music too.

The AFL needs to get its head out of its arse and understand that the Grand Final is not the Super Bowl

The AFL will never admit that the Grand Final is not the Super Bowl. The AFL sees itself as the NFL. We have entertainment at the GF just like the NFL has at the Super Bowl. The push is for a night event, just like the NFL. The bench is slowly getting bigger just like in the NFL. We have a draft just like the NFL ( good thing). In fact the AFL is so like the NFL the obvious next step is that NFL type executive salaries should be paid in the AFL. And there we have the end objective.

They match up extremely well against the Pies, beat them comfortably earlier this year, are in better form, and the Pies are very reliant on Daicos who is still out.

On a side note, I reckon the winner tonight makes the GF, loser is out in straight sets, because they'll be heading interstate

Have a friend that went to the 2014 or 15 Super Bowl and ran into him at the MCG, before the game, for our big day in 2016. He is a Richmond fan from the western suburbs, so he got behind us but wasn’t a true fan. He actually said “I’ll never see my team here, so this is the next best thing” When I next caught up with him in the summer I asked how did the Grand Final compare with the Super Bowl? He said “no comparison” thinking the Super Bowl must’ve been better somehow? He said as a neutral observer watching and being at the 2016 Grand Final was just mind blowing, so intense from start to finish, so much passion and energy and noise and emotion and of course the sense of history. A much better athletic sport that still requires manliness without all the padding.

They conceded some late goals but basically dominated general play (far more inside 50s and clearances). Only reason margin wasn't higher is because they were uncharacteristically inaccurate. Can't stand Melbourne, but don't see Pies winning tonight
