That's the difference between BF fantasy and reality.

All this "shoulda demanded moar" is just people wanting to flex.

The campaigner was a cancer, we wanted draft capital to team Wardlaw with Sheezel, we got it and some more. Sign the paperwork and move on. Leave the posing to Dildoro'.

People forget that deal died the first weekend of the trade window as it needed just a little more bled out to keep the plates spinning. If West Coast chose to get paid on Rioli alone we would have ended up with 8 (so optimistically Ginbey, Hollands or Phillipou instead of Wardlaw), 14 this year and Riley shitting Bonner.

I do remember being filthy with it straight after I heard it but once I heard what kind of person he was at North I realised they made the most of it.

Plus points only matter for future draft picks and when you have a player you need to bid on. Trading picks that close to the draft is all about what players you can get. If you have a really strong group of 5 on your draft board and think it drops off quickly, you are not going to trade pick 4 for 8 and 10 just for points.

Rawlings turned pick 1 and JHF into their top 2 players on their board plus an extra pick this year. That's pretty good considering what JHF did asking for a trade on eve of trade week

2, 3, 11 and 14 (i.e. four picks inside 15) is such a f***ing good draft hand that I'm not convinced it's better we have Reid instead

Curtin, McKercher, Croft and Edwards is not a combo many have considered, but would be a pretty awesome one from a list balance perspective. Especially if we are considering moving Comben back.

We get the best midfielder in the draft, a KPD, KPF and a elite young ruck.

I agree with you, simply taking the picks to the draft is close to the top of my list.

Maybe only trumped by moving for GC's pick with 11 & 14.

I was on board with Reid when we had the #1 pick, but we don't need to trade with him. We should concentrate rebalancing the list this offseason. We won't have another opportunity like this again likely.

Another relatively low possession game from Watson, but he produced several moments of magic and had a big impact on the contest. His field kicking was a class above, and he showed his athleticism by flying spectacularly for his marks. As the game wore on, he seemed to become more interested in scrapping with his Tassie opponents than playing football.

I still can't have Watson going 2 or 3 at that height. Comparing him to Caleb Daniel who went at 46 and was a superstar junior. Will he get to 14?

High risk, high reward.

With Watson you are looking at a small forward who is capable of consistently being a 40+ goal a year forward, who is also a dynamic game breaker.

It's compelling even factoring losing access to Reid totally agree.

11 and 14 especially get into the blurry region where needs start to meet best available.

Having this much capital at the top end gives us a lot of bargaining power for live trades. Could be a very interesting draft night if we decide to prioritise positional needs over best available, and another club with a top 10 pick is desperate to take whoever's left after pick 2.

What's the most important aspect of trade week?
Dealing future 2nd rounders
That's right, balancing your list
Ah, coming at it from a different angle

There is no pick 11. Sometimes the compo rumours will be false.
