Bet it’s bullshit re McKay as in Hawthorn will have already known he’s had issues

Less than 80 games in 8 years is hardly the definition of durable

Just highlights just how big a load of bollocks it is that pick 3 is even being discussed as an option

Could work out very nicely for the Hawks. Get McKay for a less ridiculous price and keep pick 3.

Brockman has talent, has family related (not negative) issues meaning he really needs to come home. He has shown he ability inconsistently and has also shown so far that he doesn't go 100% all the time. His defensive running and pressure is suspect. His game against WCE this year was his career best game and it was against witches hats.

He is going to need to put a lot more dedication to get the best out of himself to make it as an AFL footballer. After round 12 he played 6 games (none as sub) for a total of 3 goals. His disposal can also be very hit and miss, he makes a lot of clangers.

Pick 52 is fair or if anything generous considering where he was drafted and what he has shown. I'm not discounting his talent, just his ability to put it all together on field and become a best 22 player. I certainly wouldn't be paying a second round pick for him if I was involved in the negotiation.

52,57 and a future third for brockman and 29 is what I would be going after. After a 20% discount on FS if McCabe is bid on at pick 18 those two picks and the Hawks third from the dogs covers the points required and the hawks bank a future third likely around pick 40 or so. Hawks pick 29 is going to be chewed up with McCabe anyway.

They get 3, McCabe, a late pick which will likely end up around 55-60 anyway as teams will be passing by that stage and get to bank West Coast's future third for a pick upgrade this year and Brockman.

Call if fair and even for WCE keeping things discrete in regards to Mitchell and releasing him from his contractual obligations with little to no fuss. In reality it means we are likely trading for Brockman with the hawks trading 23&Brockman for McCabe & 40 next year.

Would it be fair to say Brockman is a bit like Flyin' in that he has a bit of a lazy streak?
When watching Ryan live you can immediately tell when he's having a "i'll just do what i need to" day and the days where he's actually giving 100%.

Different cats in playing style obviously..

He was on par with Winder in his draft year , I don't expect much from him . Pick 57 is about right .

Every year they are convinced that a star of the comp will want to come and play for them. It's hilarious yet also kind of embarrassing.

The draft is so ridiculously compromised with compensation picks, academies, father son, NGA and the like, it’s a wonder why we even bother with it.

I like how the rhetoric is “North aren’t getting given Sanders”, and then in the same breath there’s talk of pick 3 as McKay compo (losing a young KPD because they get rewarded to do so), a mid first pick 11, which they could essentially package up with other picks to have picks 2/3/4 and get Sanders anyway. It’s a joke.

What's everyone's thoughts on nabbing these players in the preseason draft-
Jack Bytel (ex saints)
Tariek Newchurch (ex crows)
Riley Bonner (ex power)

Young, talented and would add quite a bit of value to the team
