I get the feeling he's lazy (in relative terms) in the offseason.

Always seems to struggle early and then play his best football in the last 6-8 weeks of the year.

Was also one of the ones singled out by the coaches for slacking off during the Covid layoff in 2020 (along with Frampton).

On the other hand we've selected him to start the year the last two years (including ahead of TT) which would tend to suggest the contrary.

With Himmelberg he reminds me a fair bit of Shaun McKernan. Good enough to be depth and play and give a decent account of himself 10 times a year (including a handful of games a year where he might play a significant role in winning the match). Asking him to do much more is pointless.

It’s funny isn’t it

Brisbane keeping trade news on the downlow during finals

Ports couldn’t get enough news out there when they needed to concentrate on other things
Had to distract people from their terrible on field performances

And Smack had a 12 year career doing that. The problem will always come down to how much you're paying them to fill that role though.

This time next week Trade time kicks off.

We'll see who get's it right from the poll

Burgess' game for Gold Coast yesterday was good

Free Agency starts Friday 6 October.

Anyone against Gresham?

He seems destined for the Bombers in a free agency rort we weren’t allowed to implement but despite no rules changes in the meantime Vic clubs will be able to leverage.

However, he’s a decent player and would add nicely to our mid/forward group.

Not really. Would prefer free agency compensation for Doedee.

That kind of summarises why free agency comp is ridiculous.

It should be launched alright..

Launched off the nearest cliff.

What, you don't enjoy spending hours hearing the same Tyrepower ad being played every 5 minutes on repeat?

I just long for that experience each year.

Or it may be better to have it limited to a 5 minute segment once per week just before the 5.00pm Friday afternoon news as that should cover off on all the info they would stretch out for a week anyway.
It's basically just a feedback loop of us all posting crap here on BF while they sit there and read said crap and regurgitate it on Trade Radio which we all then listen to and post crap about it on BF.
