So with the exception of a potential GWS trade for Himmelberg (which you would assume would be for a bag of chips), we don't really have any trade rumours surrounding the final 4 teams right?

That plus the SANFL team bowing out might mean we start to see some action soon.

Doedee has been linked to Brisbane as a Free Agent.

Lions rumoured to be one of the sides offering Dood a contract.

Apparently he won't announce his decision for a couple of weeks = going to Brisbane.

It's never a bag of chips when the player is contracted..

I know they've interviewed Joel Freijah several times recently....maybe a replacement for Isaac Smith's role, a very similar game style.?

Only Geelong Falcons that look draft chances would likely be in the back half of the draft/rookie Angus Hastie, Tom Anastasopoulos, Michael Rudd, Joe Pike and a bit of a smoky of mine Malachi White....Not too many drafts they don't bring in a Falcon, sometimes an obscure one at that.
I think the Falcons prospects would be better options than Freijah.

It’s funny isn’t it

Brisbane keeping trade news on the downlow during finals

Ports couldn’t get enough news out there when they needed to concentrate on other things

Why?..he is essentially a contracted SANFL player.

It seems to baffle people that all clubs have guys that don’t play AFL each week - and only play when injuries occur
EH is not a great player obviously but he is an experienced and developed back up player

He is contracted, he has played a few decent senior games and is back up where we don’t currently have much

We got a future 3 for an uncontracted Frampton. Suggests we probably get more than that for Himmelberg

A contracted player you don’t want is a liability. An obligation to pay him in future is a negative value

I still like EH, but we don’t.
For someone we don't like he has signed 3 two year main list extensions since we drafted him in 2016.

EH is the classic 'lifts during contract negotiations/regresses once signed' player
I get the feeling he's lazy (in relative terms) in the offseason.

Always seems to struggle early and then play his best football in the last 6-8 weeks of the year.

Was also one of the ones singled out by the coaches for slacking off during the Covid layoff in 2020 (along with Frampton).
